Exciting news from NYC's East Midtown Greenway! Our 54th St. Bridge and greenway have won the top spot at the NYC X Design awards in the Outdoor Space category.

This new pedestrian and bicycle bridge at East 54th Street in Midtown Manhattan features an elegant clear-span arch design over the FDR Drive, connecting the neighborhood to a stunning new linear park along the East River.

The bridge's unique design includes inclined arches and fencing that offer unobstructed views of the river and Roosevelt Island, all crafted with a context-sensitive architectural theme. The ADA-accessible approach spans follow a curvilinear alignment, adding visual appeal and interest to the area.

This gateway structure along the East River has quickly become a point of pride for the community, thanks to a successful collaboration between Rosales+ and Stantec, ensuring the project's high visual quality, engineering excellence, and seamless urban integration. Congratulations to the NYC Economic Development Corporation, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, and NYC DOT for their unwavering vision and support!
