A heavy day today as we remember 9/11 and all those who lost their lives that day.

I really love the movement of the fabric in this piece. It took a lot of effort to see past what my brain told me were white stripes and put some blues and yellowed brown shadows in there.

This is Mochi. Isn’t she the most beautiful cat??? Painting white can be such a challenge sometimes since it’s the absence of paint in watercolor but it makes you see beyond what’s obvious. I loved painting the soft background with my Daniel Smith Supergranulating paints to make her fluffy white fur pop out.

There’s also something so rewarding about painting animal eyes, almost like you can see their soul!

“Cocktail Crescendo” - Watercolor on Paper

I’ve been in a cocktail mood these days! This watercolor was painted to be donated for the Small Art, Big Party hosted by with proceeds to support Art Wellesley programming. I’ve always loved painting on a small scale and supporting my local community, so this was the perfect opportunity to submit my work.

This 6x6 piece will be up for sale for $100 like all the other donated pieces on Friday, September 27th from 6-8 pm if you’re interested!
