Earlier this fall, our team spent a day with Mike Chapman and America ByDesign, talking all about our project, Frost Terrace.

Frost Terrace transforms a once-overlooked Cambridge site into 40 new affordable homes by weaving contemporary design into three preserved (and one relocated) historic houses. The project proves how density, preservation, and climate goals can work beautifully together.

Set your reminders -- the full episode premieres on CBS News this Saturday, December 13th at 9pm!

Back to campus, back on the water!

The Newell and Weld Boathouses at Harvard are restored and ready for a new generation of rowers. Our work preserved their individual historic characters while providing modern updates for function, durability, and student life.

Swipe to see history meet innovation. 🚣‍♂️✨

We’re proud to share that Bruner/Cott has renewed our commitment to equity, transparency, and accountability by achieving the Just Label 3.0 from Living Future 🎉

As the first company in New England to adopt the Just Label, this milestone reflects our belief that good design starts with supporting people — in our projects, our communities, and within our own studio.

For us, Just is more than a framework. It’s a way to grow as better designers, employers, and citizens.

🎥 In this segment of 'In Practice, On Purpose,' our Director of Operations, Meg Gatza, shares why the JUST Label matters to our practice.

Gund Hall’s recent renovation—led by Bruner/Cott Architects—demonstrates how thoughtful retrofitting can honor a building’s original character while making it more sustainable. The iconic structure is now equipped with cutting-edge, high-performance glazing that drastically improves energy efficiency without compromising its original character. The project preserves John Andrews' beloved design and sets a new benchmark for how Modernist buildings can be revitalized for the future.

Construction is cruising at ! 🧱🚧🦺

The new Integrative Arts Lab, now under construction, will soon become a nexus for the arts at Wesleyan University – a social place that encourages community, collaboration, and conversation. The program includes spaces for visual arts, performing arts, maker spaces along with a flexible arts commons. Contemporary additions to the existing T-shape complex will expand the capabilities of the new facility, blending old and new.

Situated at the edge of campus, the site was formerly home to the Mohawk Manufacturing Company, among others. The oldest structure on site was constructed in 1850, with an addition built in 1922.

Last week, Jason Jewhurst, FAIA, and Jackie Mignone, AIA, presented a at Facades+ Boston, hosted by The Architect’s Newspaper.

Their presentation, “Rivermark Reimagined: Residential Reclad and Deep Energy Retrofit without Tenant Displacement,” explored how our firm implemented a high-performance panelized façade system on an existing 1970s high-rise precast concrete multi-family housing building complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Jackie and Jason shared the resulting measured data, reduced operational energy and decreased water consumption, and how the project prioritized community resilience.

Thank you, for hosting another fun and informative conference!
