When working on historic properties, I am always careful about what details to preserve. The dentil molding in this home was original and a lot of care was taken to make sure it was protected and kept. While traditionally this parlor level room would have been closed off from the entry by doors (we removed those) this modern family needed breathing room, and flexible entertaining space so we opened this room to the entry area and helped the owner create floor plans for different entertaining scenarios. Hop over to stories to see one evening when we turned this parlor into an elegant dining space for 16 people complete with flowers, napkins and table linens custom made to coordinate with the room. Yes, we do that.⁠

Are you a collector of stuff like I am? Thoughtful interiors develop over time, but sometimes you don’t have enough of it (time). That’s when I dip into my collection of things patiently waiting for the right space. I remember the day I found the pair of Milo Baughman sofas in this photo with no intention of ever parting with them. Every once in a while I miss them, but I know where they live, and can visit them anytime.
