🌳 Understanding the Canopy Raise 🌳

We recently completed a couple canopy raises on this property. You can see our lift in action, helping us reach those lower limbs safely and precisely.

What is a canopy raise?
A canopy raise (or crown lifting) is the removal of the lowest branches of a tree. The goal is to provide a uniform height for the bottom of the canopy.

Why is this done?

🟩Clearance: It creates necessary space over rooflines, chimneys, and structures to prevent rubbing or damage.

🟩Visibility: Lifting the limbs opens up the view of the home and landscape.

🟩Lawn Care: It allows more sunlight and airflow to reach the grass and plants growing underneath.

🟩Safety: It ensures plenty of head clearance for walking, mowing, or parking.

Safety first! We were out at this beautiful property recently to take down a Beech tree that was leaning a little too close for comfort. The roots were already starting to lift, so we brought in the crane to lift it out safely without risking any damage to the home. While we were there, we also took care of a dying tree nearby to ensure the safety of the home and residents.

Running a tree service, we see a lot of impressive sights, but nothing beats the history right in our own backyard. This tree has stood on our family farm since the mid-1800s, surviving through generations and serving as a beautiful reminder of God's handiwork.

We’ve lived here for 6.5 years now, and Bryce and I feel truly blessed to be the current stewards of this land. There’s something special about knowing your family roots go as deep as a tree like this one!
