I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder. 🫏

This Elkhorn homeowner had a front landscape on a hill — and every time it rained, the mulch washed right over the small boulders at the bottom. They'd fix it, it'd happen again. That's not a maintenance issue. That's a design issue.

So we fixed the design:
🪨 Set 1,000–2,000 lb boulders that actually hold the hill — mulch stays where it belongs
🌿 Pulled the dead Tiger Eye sumac and replanted the entire front bed
💡 Added landscape lighting to illuminate the tree and the whole front at night
🌲 Built an elevated berm in the back with Taylor junipers — so the neighbors aren't looking straight down onto their patio anymore

Privacy when they're on the deck. Curb appeal from the street. And a landscape that finally works with the slope instead of fighting it.

If your yard has a problem that keeps coming back no matter how many times you "fix" it — it's probably not you. Send us a message and we'll take a look.

If you ever need our landscape crew's attention, forget a meeting; just show up with food. 😂

Huge thank you to Watkins for the Customer Appreciation Lunch and to Javi's Tacos Omaha for the amazing meal today! Our crew is out building a patio, so Vicky brought lunch to the job site. Judging by the smiles, you'd think we handed out bonuses instead of tacos! We're pretty sure morale increased by at least 98.5%, productivity is back at full speed, and nobody asked what was for dinner for at least 20 minutes. Also, shoutout to Belgard Outdoor Living for some new hats for our crew on this insanely hot day!!

Thanks for keeping our hard-working crew fed and happy. We appreciate you! Proof that our landscaping team run on two things: equipment and food.

🌟 Looking for a Career, Not Just a Job? 🌟

At GE Outdoors, we believe great careers are built by great people, and great people are worth getting to know, even before there's a position available.

That's why we want to hear from you. We're always looking to connect with individuals who value honesty, integrity, hard work, and doing the right thing; even when nobody is watching. Those aren't just words on a wall around here; they're the foundation of who we are and how we operate every day. We take training seriously. We invest in our people. We believe career growth should be intentional, not accidental. When someone joins the GE Outdoors family, our goal isn't to give them a job; we want to help them build a future. Sure, skills matter. Experience matters. But character matters most.

We're looking for people who want to grow, learn, lead, and make a difference for years to come. The kind of people who still believe a handshake means something, who take pride in their work, and who understand that excellence is a habit; not an occasional event.

And if you're wondering whether we're a fun place to work? Let's just say we work hard, laugh often, celebrate wins together, and genuinely enjoy what we do. Life's too short to spend 40+ hours a week somewhere you don't enjoy.

So even if you don't see the perfect opening today, reach out anyway. Some of the best careers start with a conversation before there's ever a job posting. We'd love to get to know you.

GE Outdoors; where character matters, growth is encouraged, and careers are built to last.

We are always looking for dedicated professionals who take pride in elite craftsmanship and visionary results.

Picture this.

You spend over $10,000 on a back patio. The place where you and your wife finally get to sit down, breathe, and enjoy the home you worked for.

And for a few years, it's everything you hoped it would be.
Until it isn't.

Because somewhere underneath all that beautiful work, your patio was built directly on top of your waterline. Not next to it. On top of it. Which means the day something goes wrong, you're not just paying to fix the line — you're paying to tear out and rebuild the patio sitting over it.

That's the homeowner we showed up for out in Bennington.
Here's the part most people don't think about: it's actually more work for us to undo somebody else's shortcut than it is to start from scratch. Last week, we re-routed the line around the patio — the way it should've been done the first time.

Did it take longer? Yep. Was it the prettiest stretch of the job? Not even close.

But this is the conversation we have with every homeowner before we ever break ground: getting it done right the first time isn't the expensive option. Getting it done twice is.

We'd rather take the extra day and sleep well knowing it was done right.

Last night's storm was a warning shot.

That tree you've been 'meaning to deal with for two years' — the leaner, the dead-limb one, the one you watched through the window last night — Nebraska's spring storms are just getting started.

We take it down before the next one does.

Quick quote. Clean job. Gone before you're arguing with your insurance company about whether the damage was 'preventable.'

Call GE Outdoors — get it handled while it's still your decision.

This patio is only 5 years old. We're tearing the whole thing out.

We're in Bennington this week fixing somebody else's rushed job. And the homeowner is paying for it — twice.

Here's what we walked into:
→ 1 inch of fall across 23 feet of patio. (The minimum is 3.)
→ Low spots throughout where water just sits and soaks in.
→ A base that wasn't extended or compacted properly — so the edges are already crumbling.

When things started failing, the homeowner called the original installer. They came out, "did something," and still charged him for it.

This is what cutting corners on a patio actually costs you. Not on install day. Five years later, when you're paying for the whole thing again.

We're excavating the patio down to dirt, laying a proper base with geotextile fabric underneath, and resetting the pavers with the right slope so water actually drains.

And as a bonus project, down by the pool, we're building a new sitting wall and a flower bed area.

All to be done by Monday.

If you've got a patio that pools, settles, or feels uneven underfoot — it's not going to fix itself. Send us a message before it gets worse.

A homeowner came to us a year ago thinking she wanted a paver patio.

By the time we broke ground, the design had become something better — a walkway with raised steps, built so her grandkids could sit, sip juice boxes, and watch the neighborhood from the corner of their forever home.

Scheduled for three days. Wrapped in two and a half.

What's in the ground:
- Black & tan boulders anchoring the corner
- Silver mist steps and flagstone path with hand-cut silver mist edging
- Creeping phlox around the boulders, creeping Jenny between the flagstone
- Tangerine daylilies and Japanese forest grass for the neon pop and texture
- A lilac tree, viburnum, and honeysuckle — sentimental picks for her

She's already talking to us about a back patio this fall.

GE Outdoors is growing; and we’re looking for the right people to grow with us. We’re a small, family-oriented team, but what we do is anything but small. We don’t just build outdoor projects; we create spaces where people gather, celebrate, and make memories that last. That level of work takes a certain kind of person.

We’re not hiring for “just a job.” We’re hiring for someone who wants to build a career, takes pride in their work, and is driven to be part of something meaningful. Top performers advance quickly here.

What you can expect:
- Competitive pay that reflects your effort & skill
- Paid holidays
- No nights and very minimal weekends (we love to go home to our families too)
- A clean, organized shop - because details matter everywhere
- A tight-knit crew that works hard, respects each other, and actually enjoys the day (humor is a +)
- And yes… mini Highland cows greet you daily 🐮

What we expect:
- You show up - on time, ready to work
- You take ownership in what you do
- Integrity. You do the right thing, even when no one’s watching
- You don’t cut corners; and you don’t disappear

This isn’t for everyone, and that’s intentional. But if you’re dependable, motivated, and want to be part of building something people truly remember…we want to meet you.

Message us or apply here:

Let’s build something people remember; with the right people behind it.

At GE Outdoors, we believe some of life’s best memories are made outside. 🌿

That’s why we’re excited to share something special from our very own landscape designer, Tera Selman. Tera has been pouring her heart into a new passion project, Indigo Acres, a space created to help people slow down, reconnect with nature, and share meaningful moments; which happens to include time with some pretty adorable mini Highland cows. 🐮

As Indigo Acres begins hosting sessions, we couldn’t be more proud to support the dream. And don’t worry - Tera will still be right here with the GE Outdoors team, continuing to design beautiful outdoor spaces and help our clients create places where their own memories can grow.

We love seeing great ideas take root and grow in our community. Be sure to give Indigo Acres a follow and check it out! 🌱
