Hi!

I’ve been in Bozeman, Montana for 2 years now (time flies!) A lot of life has happened in that two years:

- I’ve learned how to get around town - grocery store, coffee shop, library - I got you!
- I’ve made a bunch of cool friends
- I worked in a gourmet caramel factory for a while - hello hairnets!
- I’ve hiked mountains and seen some amazing views 🏔️
- I got a boyfriend from my hometown in Ohio
- I’m making art, teaching myself, going to creative groups, had some stuff in a juried show, and on display. I share it on Instagram
- I work for another creative small business helping in the shop and fulfilling orders - hey - check ‘em out of you want to lol
- My housemate and I experienced a house fire in August. We were super lucky but it was a total loss.
- I turned 40! 🎉
- I broke up with the boyfriend.
- I’ve been living in temporary places asking myself what’s next?
- And I’ve still been working with my amazing clients helping them KonMari their lives and figuring out what’s next for them…
- I became a Master Consultant! (With over 1500 hours of 1:1 client time 😮)

So if you don’t know what you’re doing with your life and you want some help figuring it out, hit me up and we can work on it together. Find me at michelldomke.com

Garages have so many competing priorities to handle, which often leaves people frustrated and overwhelmed with the space.

Check out this Garage Before ➡️ After to see how we handled:
- 6 bikes + supplies
- 3 gulf bags
- kid’s outdoor toys
- cleaning supplies
- gardening tools
- cleaning supplies
- pet supplies
- multiple trash cans
- tools
- and more!

Need to get your garage organized?

✨Tips✨
1️⃣ It *might* not be possible to meet all of your goals, so list out your priorities for the space in order of importance to help you define the space and make choices based on your most important requirements.

2️⃣ Use wall space to get items off the floor and easily accessible - there are many great track or wall slat storage solutions that allow you to add a variety of different hooks and baskets

3️⃣ Create zones by keeping like-items together. Zones make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

4️⃣ Make sure kid’s stuff is accessible for them to reach and put away

5️⃣ Garages tend to be full of “deferred decisions” and unfinished projects. Ask yourself if these items still spark joy and if you still have enthusiasm to complete the unfinished projects. If not, it’s time to let them go

Before > After Basement Play Area

What a difference a day of tidying makes!

Goals for this room were open space for the boys to run and play around - nerf, floor hockey, basketball, whatever, plus room for mom to workout

Before there were too many obstacles in the way and no clear homes for stuff

Both boys (ages 7 & 11) were involved in making decisions for what to keep, donate, and trash.

Then mom and I organized into something functional and easy for the boys to use. Everything has a home.

One major thing we did was dump allllll the lego sets that were separated into a million zip locks into one giant clear tub of creativity (this was actually the second time this week I did that and both families felt renewed creativity and excitement to play with legos)

Nerf is big in this household so the cabinet was reconfigured to hold the big guns, while the baskets under the tv stand separated all the darts and accessories.

No new products were purchased for this space

Kitchen Before ➡️ After

Most people spend a lot of time in their kitchens and when the kitchen isn’t functioning, it can be a huge energy suck!

We looked at each item in this kitchen to make sure it served a purpose, functioned, and sparked joy

My clients noticed a theme - that many of the items that were clogging up their space were last minute purchases or extra low cost, ‘backup’ options. These items were donated.

The big organization change in this space was flipping the items in the lazy susan cabinet with the large double sided cabinet

We moved the gorgeous (and heavy!) LeCruset pots and pans from the bottom of the lazy susan where they were practically inaccessible and rarely used to the big open accessible cabinets, along with large glass baking dishes.

We moved the regularly used and light weight items like mixing bowls, & skillets to the top of the lazy susan and the rarely used baking items to the bottom. Most used items are first on the lazy susan, which requires no turning to find what you need.

In the overflowing towel drawer, we kept most of these items actually, but we folded items vertically and added some drawer dividers to keep everything in place.

How’s your kitchen functioning? Is it energizing or energy sucking?

Bathroom Before ➡️ After

Four family members use this bathroom, and those cabinet drawers aren’t real 🙃

Since the counter tops are so wide, we kept some things on the counter but gave each of the boys their own individual basket.

Mom will get a nice new drawer system for her stuff below the cabinet (in pic 2 on the left)

Other then that we used what we had on hand to separate and create containment.

How to:
✅Bathrooms are usually full of products, especially if you’re the kind of person who likes to try new things.

✅So first thing to do is go through everything and make sure you like using each item.

✅Toss the stuff you don’t like, toss the expired items

✅Then put everything in categories. Create a section for ‘back stock’ of extra items.

✅Make your most used items easily accessible.

✅Use containment to keep order and add labels if that’s your style.

2 YEARS! 🎉

Two years ago today, I walked out of my day-job for the last time, and into the wild adventure of solopreneurship

I’ve experienced high-highs and low-lows. I’m regularly surprised that I’ve kept myself alive and going this long. 😂

I feel so grateful for my clients who have trusted me with the intimacy of being in their physical, mental, and emotional spaces. I’ve learned so much from each one of them. 🙏🏼

This work feels like a calling and it’s sometimes it’s difficult to follow it when I’m not really sure of the path.

I just keep going, step by step.

And it’s so important to recognize yourself for your accomplishments because it creates lightness and momentum to keep going - so today I’m celebrating

What can you celebrate in your life today? It can be big or small. It all matters

Just a little game cupboard before/after

Full family project, everybody participating.

1) Pick a category
2) Keep the things you love
3) Donate items you don’t
4) Trash/Recycle things that are broken or missing parts
4) Organize last and give every item a home

I organized the games vertically so they are easier to pull out. Cards and small games went in a basket.

Sometimes you just gotta let kids play...

They can get the job done and it’s more enjoyable if you give them some leeway to put their own spin on things

This young client made a game out of choosing what to keep and what to let go of

In the end, clothes were tidied and parents were happy

Follow your vision, even if it seems crazy to you, and to your friend and family 🤪

I wanted to be a professional organizer for 6 years before I took the leap. This isn’t a profession where you can just go get a job doing it...you have to create it yourself. And after I got the courage to start, it took me 3 years of side hustling before I quit my full-time job. 📆

Many people didn’t see my vision and couldn’t understand what I was trying to create. And many other people were cheerleaders. My journey as a small business owner and certified has had lots of ups and downs but I’m still going strong 💪🏼

And today I became a certified Platinum Consultant, meaning I’ve done over 900 tidying hours with my clients 😊

So if you want to do something, do it. Follow your dreams, follow your intuition. Tidying helps you gain clarity, so if you need help uncovering a path to your dreams...give me a call ☎️
