Studio & Sanctuary Update.

Good morning, I am kind of changing the focus of this page to more reflect the goings on, and life, here on the sanctuary. Since my husband passed away last November I have been quite off balance in regards to so many things, daily things especially, and need to make some changes. One of those changes is in how the sanctuary will be handled, and presented to all of you.

As most know I am an artisan, and for the most part the financial burden for all the animal residents here rests solely upon me, which is okay. I do not do this for profit, but rather as a self-sustaining way of life for all of us, the people, flora & fauna, all. I live here with my daughter, and 2 grandchildren. We are the caretakers, and nurturers of the lives dependent upon us. My art studio (Studio on the Pond) also resides here, and the inspiration for most of my work comes from the life & beauty present. This is my Blessing Circle, as we provide for them, so do they give back in their own way. The sanctuary rescue horses, ponies, birds, dogs, etc., as well as the forests & wildlife around us, hold space for us, as we hold it for them. We nurture each other.

My goal is to be able to have one single forum to share photos of our life here, and the animals & birds we care for, the wildlife, gardens & pond, as well as the art that provides for that care. I want to be able to talk about the situations that arise, and the life that happens around us.

We are not a non-profit, as it takes profit to provide for the care of everyone. I have debated this in my mind for a long time, mostly for tax purposes for our patrons, and it may change in the future, who knows. But currently, it will remain as it is. We ARE however a certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation (and have been for several years), and do everything we can to preserve the environment around our sanctuary primarily for the wildlife that resides here. I believe in balance, and that is what I strive for.

As a side note ... I am not a writer, so please forgive any of my written faux pas lol.
