The financial growth of our area has not gone unnoticed. We have seen an influx of out of state companies coming into our area and taking advantage of the community’s prosperity and resources.

Most of the time, General Liability Insurance doesn’t cover work performed outside of their home state. So, they may indeed have insurance, but your claim will most likely not be covered. Good luck trying to sue a company that’s not registered with the Mississippi Secretary of State, and doesn’t have the legal right to work in Mississippi.

Noting like coming home to an ICE raid unfolding at your home, because of who you hired.

THINGS TO LOOK FOR.
-Ask to see their Driver’s License, to verify that they are local.
-Look to make sure that they have a MS plate on their vehicle.
-Research them online, to see if they are local.

You never know what you will get whenever you call a random tree company.

A customer called me because she saw that I’m a licensed tree surgeon and certified arborist. She stated that she wanted someone experienced to take down a big pecan tree overhanging her house and power lines.

Happy to say that the tree was safely removed and SURPRISE, you have three new grand babies. 😅

Moral of the story, even the most professional companies can surprise you every now and then.

Dear “Contractors!” Whenever a customer asks if you are licensed, they are not asking if you have a drivers license!!

They want to know that you have passed some sort of state or governmental test, showing that you are competent enough to perform the task that they are paying you for!!🙄

I see so many business cards advertising LICENSED and they have no clue to what they are doing.

Dead pines are especially dangerous left standing and most of the time challenging to remove. Only trust a fully licensed and insured tree care company with your trees. Just because someone owns a chainsaw, that doesn’t mean that they are the right person for the job.
