Unfortunately for this new home buyer this house that was built in 2007 did not have any house wrap installed on the sub sheathing. What made things worst was the previous owner hired somebody to replace some rotted wood on the chimney and he cut out the deck flashing in the process which created more rot/ water damage. The good news is the new owner called the right company to fix the problem. With the rainy season upon us, work like this needs to be done very methodically.
