Applications are now open for Texas A&M Forest Service wildfire mitigation grants.

These grant opportunities help private landowners and municipalities reduce wildfire risk through fuel reduction practices and prescribed burning.

Eligible applicants may receive financial assistance for projects that:

🌿Reduce hazardous vegetation
🔥Create defensible space around homes and infrastructure
🌲Support prescribed fire as a land management tool

Mechanical Fuel Reduction grants are available in eligible Central Texas counties and multiple prescribed fire grant opportunities are available across the state.

City of Brenham offering waste disposal for local residents.
In the event the task is larger than you feel that you can handle yourself we will certainly help with any clean-up and restoration services.

Offer for Brush and Yard Waste Disposal for City Residents

Due to the storm last night, we are offering residents a convenient way to dispose of brush and yard waste. From Wednesday, May 27, to Saturday, June 6th, each City resident will receive 500 lbs. of brush credit when brought to the BVR Collection Station (located at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd). However, if the yard waste or brush exceeds 500 lbs., the additional weight will be subject to the normal rate of $30.00 per ton. Please note that this offer is exclusively for residential City customers and does not apply to commercial entities or tree service companies. After June 6, 2026, regular disposal rates will apply.

Proof of City residency is required when you visit the Collection Station. If you have any questions, please contact JoAnne Hynes at 979-337-7428.

🌬️☔️🌳We sympathize with those affected by recent storms and we are ready and capable to assist in any way to get life back in order. There are ways to mitigate risk when you engage with knowledgeable companies that adhere to widely accepted industry standards and have industry accepted certifications and qualifications for assessments of tree health and risks associated with various conditions. While driving around our area today I saw many trees with major sections of them torn off and on homes, structures and vehicles. All of our regular clients that have regular tree care and maintenance services had very little to no issues with the trees under our care. Mother nature can be violent but with regular maintenance and assessments, situations that we are seeing and helping with today can be addressed before significant damage is experienced.
