This master bath was in dire need of a make over. The homeowners wanted to make everything accessible as they age. They wanted lots of natural light and get rid of a tub they never used and make room for a large curbless custom 8.4x5.5 foot shower. The pictures just don't do this one justice.
They chose a shiny colorful travertine 12x24 for the walls of the shower with some floating granite shelves and a seat and a matte natural limestone for the heated floors.
By taking out a few non load bearing walls and moving the pocket door to the actual entrance off the master bedroom they now have a spa-like bathroom they can use for years to come.
Another wonderful family to have spent quality time with during this pandemic! (and yes we did paint the bedroom as well. I will post pictures of that later)

This bathroom was the original bathroom in a 40-50s lake house that was super dark with a dropped low ceiling and no window. We removed a wall in order to incorporate the window into the room for natural light. Since it will be used by many of all ages we tried to keep that in mind when designing.
Originally the sink and toilet were where the tub is now located and the tub on the wall we tore out. We also moved the door further down the hall for more privacy.
The owners chose a simple tile for the walls of the shower and something sparkly for the niche. They also chose a unique porcelain plank floor for the bathroom floor.
You will noticed how the walls were cobbled together because the room on the other side was added on at a later time. This one was a challenge but I do believe we got it right for the homeowner.

I was “reminded” today by Facebook that this picture from 2014 was my most popular photo. I had just finished laying this travertine in my master shower! We were waiting on the glass and hadn’t trimmed out the plumbing yet. Like?

Got a reminder on this photo. This was a laundry room with block walls and no ceiling and no lights, that was dark and unfinished. It was a simple room that was a huge transformation for the client. Hard to believe it was 10 years ago today! I have been blessed with the best clients!

After photos of the project completed! Cabinets rejuvenated, new granite countertops, new floor tile, new shower design and of course those very cool lit mirrors!

Seems like once a year we get a call from a client who wants our help because they need it instead of want it. That was the case here. The clients loved their bathroom as it was but the shower was leaking and the source couldn’t be found without tearing it out. In doing so we uncovered why the shower never drained properly among other issues they were completely unaware of.
