This floor shines the the top of the Chrysler building! Floor maintenance isn’t the sexiest project but it is rewarding to see the floors shine like new.

The hardwood floors are reclaimed 200 year old barn wood from Pennsylvania, sealed with tung oil. We figured if it survived 200 years it could handle our three kids and two dogs!

Annually John cleans and reseals with Tung Oil. This year, John put black silicon in the joints to allow the wood to still expand and contract but reduce the amount of dirt that collects in the joints.

Quick little project … refinishing a side table. The table top got a through sanding and then two coats of polyurethane. The base needed a little repair using wood glue. Then a quick wash and sand to knock down then finish. Two coats of black matte spray paint and voila. Just need to find a new draw pull. It looks amazing in the guest room.

We tried Odysea today! The food was delicious and everyone was sooo nice! We ended up going during the rush, which is around 10:00, but with how busy it was the food and drinks didn’t take long!

Yes, we still have a Christmas tree up 🎄and now it looks like it has stripes 😬. During COVID we started keeping this fake tree up until Easter, changing decorations.

This year, I just kept it up with our travel ornaments because it’s a tree full of memories. Beginning on our honeymoon, we’ve bought an ornament for every trip we’ve taken.

It’s coming down this week and I know I’ll miss the warm glow of twinkle lights.
