GMI was thrilled to introduce K - 4th graders to the wonderful world of architecture through a local elementary school's STEAM night.
As a chance for students to learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and math, it was great to show how architecture encompasses all of those important and exciting topics.
We showcased various material samples and mockups, some favorite children's books about architecture and engineering, and let the kids sketch then build creations out of magnetic tiles and marshmallow with skewers! Hopefully we inspired some future architects!

Working with the S/L/A/M Collaborative, GMI is the behavioral healthcare architect for five new psychiatric inpatient units at the Lamuel Shattuck Hospital in Boston.
Earlier this week, we walked the construction site - it's always great to see our hard work (and renderings) come to life.

The cafe is officially open for business!

Congratulations to Mass Department of Developmental Services for the opening of the Hummingbird Cafe, a new coffee shop that is operated, managed and staffed by individuals at Hogan's Day Vocational program.

It was an honor to design this new amenity at the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers and to provide this opportunity for DDS's clients to access skills training in a dignified environment.

Socially responsible design at its best.
