So we’ve been discussing making sure plants get enough water, but what happens when they get TOO MUCH water?

💧Wet soil
💧Mushy stems
💧Mold or mildew
💧Slow growth
💧Soil that stays soggy for days

Try this cycle if you’re struggling with keeping your plants well hydrated:

💧 Deep watering
☀️ Slight drying
💧 Deep watering again

Healthy roots need oxygen too! Before watering, try checking the soil a few inches down first. If it still feels cool and damp, your plants are probably okay for now.

They grow thick succulent-like leaves with large clusters of flowers that start pale pink and deepen into a beautiful rosy-red by fall.

Plants are living things too 🌱 which means they need WATER 💧 How do you know if you're underwatering your plant?

Watch for:
• Dry, crispy leaf edges
• Wilting or drooping leaves
• Soil pulling away from the edges
• Slow growth
• Faded or dull leaf color
• Flowers dropping early
• Dry soil several inches down

Most plants do best with deep, thorough watering rather than quick daily sprinkles.

Black-eyed Susans give you the best of both worlds!

Known for their golden petals and dark centers💛, these perennials love full sun and moderate watering at first but will handle longer stretches of “dry” once established. Their blooms typically last through early fall, and they tend to attract bees 🐝 and butterflies 🦋.
