🌿That's a wrap on this years planting season! We started the summer off with zucchini galore (who knew there are so many ways to freeze it?!) and ended with a great harvest of tomatoes. Had a good helping of lettuce, bell peppers & herbs throughout the summer and a few watermelons. The corn FINaLLY grew full-term, buuutt I picked it too late so I only ended up with 1 good row. 🤦♀️ Oh well, I will know the signs for next year! I put forth a valiant effort in my battle against japanese beetles, squash bugs & weeds. I lost to the weeds for sure by end of July with all the rain we got, I could not keep up! This was my first year jumping into canning & ended up with 7 quarts of stew tomatoes, 22 pint jars of salsa and 9 jars of marinara. And our peach trees finally produced some peaches!! We didn't notice until almost all were on the ground but we were able to enjoy one mighty peach with cream (Jake's favorite)! Here's to another summer of experiments, mistakes and triumphs! 👩🌾
