If you're not married make sure both of your names are on your home owners insurance. Otherwise whoever's name isnt on there wont have coverage for their personal property. It literally costs nothing to add them.

Here's some info on water damage to your home. If water gets into your house from outside due to rain or from the ground being saturated. The insurance will not typically cover that unless you have some type of flood insurance. If water gets in through a leak in your home or if you have a sewer or drain backed up they will cover the damage.

Here's a tip for all you homeowners out there. The dollar amount your house should be covered for is the amount it would cost to replace your house today. Not the amount you paid for it. The average cost per square foot on a new house is around $108.00. So multiply the square foot of your house by 108.00 and that should give you a good ball park for the amount of coverage you need on your dwelling.

I am a public adjuster. Which by definition means I work for the public. I don't work for a contractor or anyone other than the home owner. I literally do everything for you. I file your claim to your insurer. I meet with the insurance adjuster when they come out to assess the damage. I help find a contractor to fix the damage. And I make sure they fix it right in a timely manner. All you have to do is call me. I've helped many people already and I look forward to helping you.
