This 9x12 commission was recently shipped to the owner and I'm happy to hear she loves it. 🫶🏻

And that’s a wrap on my pet portraits for Animal Aid of Tulsa 💙
I am SO grateful to have been part of something that helps animals find love and care.

Now back to the easel. I have lots of commissions in progress and more sweet faces coming soon 😊🐈🐶🐔🐷🐥🐴

Second painting for the Animal Aid of Tulsa fundraiser done! My favorite part to paint has always been the eyes and nose. The reference photo for this painting is perfect for exactly that. ❤️

Here is the first of three paintings I've volunteered to paint for People Painting Pets with Animal Aid of Tulsa .

No progress photos, no time-lapses... just a full day of painting and soaking up the beautiful weather. 🥰

This week's sketches from the elementary school pick up line!

For the last 7 years I've been waiting in line for 45 minutes to pick up my children from school. And with that time I try to practice drawing. Having that dedicated time to train myself in a skill instead of scrolling on my phone has helped so much with my confidence. 🫶🏻

Happy Birthday to me! Another year older… and thankfully a little better at painting than I used to be 😅

Growth takes time. Here is the very first pet portrait I did when I was 18 years old. My Milo II. Should paint my Milo III (again)?

One of the hardest parts of painting pet portraits is knowing many of them are created after a beloved friend has passed. ❤️‍🩹

Our dogs give us their whole hearts for such a short time. If you have one curled up beside you right now, take the picture. Take lots of them. The silly ones, the sleepy ones, the everyday moments.

Not only will you treasure those photos someday, they also become the memories that allow artists like me to create paintings that keep their spirit alive.🙏🏻🎨🐶

If I didn't work at Pinot's Palette for the last 8 years I don't think I could have accomplished a painting like this. This huge pet portrait is a 24"x36" commission I finished for Christmas. 8 years ago I could count on one hand the number of landscapes I'd actually painted. (Maybe 2?) Being employed at a paint and sip studio has been forced to learn how to layer in order to create landscape paintings! Talk about useful knowledge!

Huge thank you again to this new owner! I loved creating this painting especially ❤️

Which background is better? A or B?

I’ve been a little quiet here, not because I stopped creating, but because life got full.
The paint never stopped though.
I’m easing back into sharing the work that means the most to me, and I’m glad you’re here.
One thing that helps me focus is a little change of scenery. I have always wanted to hang some of my larger pieces in my studio and last week I grabbed a hammer and ladder and made it happen!
