Submitted this for the Arts 302 Destination community art exhibit.

This is called, Milky Way at Camp Wesumkee, Big Pine, FL and it had to have a song attached so I choose KoKoMo by the Beach Boys…

Exhibit will be in September and this piece is for sale for $150.00.

Husband made this bandsaw box with hidden drawers. The wood was not the quality he would normally use but it came from the class at Woodcraft in Tulsa.

Staining made the ends with the crosswise sawed threads look really bad.

So as you know, paint covers a multitude of sin… I mean issues LOL!

But then husband is blown away by the strategically placed insects and reptiles. Daughter sent me photos of what is found there species wise so she was a key factor in making this so special.

Did I mention Mr H has his degrees in botany and biology?

There are new items for dad in the booth! Do you know what they are?

I Put the bugs up since dads usually have to take care of that if they’re in the house.

Have a Star Wars death-Star piece and two 1950s sci-fi magazine cover replications.

Have some beach stuff for the dads who love the beach and water.

A monkey head nebula for the donkey kong gamer dad….

And a very tactile lunar crater and smaller Astro pieces.

To the ones who love weather there are tornadoes.

Had a most unexpected day on Sunday at the Museum of the Red River in Idabel, OK. It was the last leg of the traveling exhibit for Oklahoma Visionary Artist 2025 - 2026 and pick up for our artwork.

The museum is so worth the trip alone had some phenomenal pieces and the curator and staff were so friendly.

We were treated with a lunch and closing reception which was unexpected.

Then the artwork exhibit was to be taken down and repacked. I had joined a conversation with the museum curator and another gentleman and I mentioned coming to Broken Bow right next door for the April Total Solar Eclipse a couple years ago.

The gentleman started talking about a book he just finished on asteroids. I mentioned I was an astronomical artist and he asked to see my artwork. He saw Psyche 16 asteroid and asked if he could buy it! Then he saw my Total Lunar Eclipse and said I really want this one too but maybe not now.

We head to the front of the museum and he went to his car to get his check book. Meanwhile the curator and I were talking with Steve Leggitt and I said he liked the other one. He said go make a deal for them. So I did!

I asked got his name and the curator said his name is behind you on the wall.

He’s the son of the msn who bold the museum! So Don Herron purchased the pieces to put in the cottage house used for visitors to the museum.

So we took them over and helped hang them up. Will never forget such a monumental day.

Plus Steve let us know that we are in a directory that people can find us and our work.

Finished “Illusion Falls” acrylic on dark brown laminated plywood. Trees were taped off so they show original laminate color.

There are 9 canvas boards added to help give optical illusions throughout the falls down to the spring at the bottom.

The photo of inspiration had logs broken and in the painting. These sticks were used after being gathered at Tom Sawyer R V on the way back from a trip in February. This RV park is on the Mississippi River.

The water sparkles, and so does the frame with green flex paint on the beautifully made frame from my spouse.

In person you can almost feel the mist! I added flying birds that were not in the phot which my neighbor Jack loved and thought was cool.

Currently hanging in my plant room.
