Still chugging along on The Davis’ Lake house, and man… that Black Quartz metal finish is looking absolutely amazing. 🔥🏠

We’re racing the weather today to get this first half knocked out, then we’ll let Mother Nature do her thing and come back to have the rest wrapped up by the end of the weekend.

But I really want to give a huge shoutout to the crew. This is the first project this entire crew has worked together on one roof, and as the owner, I couldn’t be more proud of these guys. They’re working their asses off, paying attention to the smallest details, and the quality of work they’re putting out speaks for itself.

It’s pretty crazy to think RT Innovations started only a few months ago as what was basically going to be an umbrella company for some side projects. Fast-forward to today, and we’ve turned it into full-blown home restoration, storm restoration, roofing, exterior work, builds, and everything in between — and we’re just getting started.

We’re fortunate enough to already be slammed for the next few months, and I don’t take that for granted for a second.

Our goal has been simple from day one: give homeowners a top-tier product, premium workmanship, and serious attention to detail without the ridiculous price tag. Do right by people, put out work we’re proud to put our name on, and make sure the homeowner is just as excited about the finished product as we are.

Couldn’t be prouder of this crew, couldn’t be happier with where RT Innovations is headed, and I’m damn excited to see what the next few years bring.

We are FULL GO on roofs right now — and we aren’t slowing down anytime soon! 🔨🏠

This week we’re tackling roughly 40+ squares of Black Quartz exposed-fastener metal on the beautiful home of our dear friends, Mike & Karen Davis.

I’ve been looking forward to getting this one underway for quite a while, and I’m incredibly grateful that Mike and Karen trusted RT Innovations with their home and stuck with us through the process.

And Karen has been taking care of the crew better than I do 😂 Pizza waiting for us today and apparently donuts coming tomorrow morning! 🍕🍩 We appreciate you guys more than you know.

We’ve still got plenty of work ahead of us on this one, but that Black Quartz is already looking SHARP. 🔥

Some jobs mean a little more than just the work. ❤️

Carol has been a dear friend for years. I’ve hunted her property, spent countless hours around her farm, and at this point I consider her family — pretty much another grandma to me.

What started as, “Can you guys patch some of these old areas where the mortar has fallen out?” turned into a pretty extensive restoration.

About 30 bags of mortar later, Kash and I worked our way through nearly every crack, crevice and deteriorated joint we could find, along with several exterior repairs. Kash absolutely knocked this one out of the park.

And because Carol is Carol, we weren’t about to leave her with a mess to clean up. We completely swept and cleaned out the barn before we left so she wouldn’t have to worry about it.

We took advantage of a rainy week before the wedding to knock this one out, and I’m really glad we did.

A lot of people nowadays probably just know me as the chiropractor who decided to start a construction company. What many don’t know is that underneath all of that, I’m a farm boy at heart.

I grew up working on the farm with my grandpa, and spending those days inside this old barn — surrounded by old stone, rough-cut lumber and years of history — brought back a lot of memories I hadn’t thought about in a long time.

My grandpa isn’t here anymore, and I’d be lying if I said finishing this one didn’t hit me a little harder than expected.

Maybe that’s why restoration work like this means so much to me. Sometimes you’re not just fixing an old building. You’re preserving a piece of somebody’s history.

Carol is thrilled with it, and I couldn’t be happier knowing we helped make sure this old barn has a foundation underneath it for many, many more years to come.

Sometimes the best solution isn’t the biggest project—it’s the right project.

This lake house was originally going to receive a complete new metal roofing system. As plans evolved, that turned into designing a future addition, and before long the project scope grew quite a bit. Rather than rushing into a full replacement, we made the decision to perform a quality repair on the damaged slope to keep the home protected.

The homeowner wants to enjoy football season without a major construction project, so once the season wraps up, we’ll sit back down together and revisit the complete roof replacement and addition.

Whether it’s a full roof, an emergency repair, or anything in between, we’re here to help you make the decision that makes the most sense—not just sell the biggest job.

Another project officially underway here in Southwest Michigan!

Our crew is loading out materials as we speak, and we’ll be knocking out several roofs over the next few weeks.

This homeowner recently purchased this property as a flip project and trusted RT Innovations to bring this old worn-out metal roof back to life. We’ll be tearing off this tired “tin can” roof and replacing it with a brand-new black Quartz metal roofing system, along with new fascia boards and all the finishing details to make it look right.

It’s going to be awesome watching this property transform between the renovations the homeowners are tackling themselves and the work we’re completing on the exterior.

This has been a HUGE week for RT Innovations.

Back-to-back days. Back-to-back wins for two amazing homeowners.

Both insurance claims were originally denied after the first inspection. Instead of accepting that answer, we continued documenting the damage, requested re-inspections, and fought for what we believed was right.

The result? Both homes were approved for full roof replacements.

This is why we do what we do.

We never encourage homeowners to file claims that don’t have legitimate storm damage. But when the damage is there, we’ll stand beside you, document everything, and fight to make sure your home is restored the way it should be.

Watching the relief and excitement on a homeowner’s face when they finally get the news they’ve been waiting for never gets old.

The First RT Innovations Project… and one I’ll never forget.

This project will always mean a little more to me than most.

Not because it was the biggest.
Not because it was the most expensive.
But because this was the very first project ever signed under RT Innovations.

To make it even better, it was for my fiancée’s cousin, Mike & Shelby.

When we first looked at this old cellar cover, we knew simply throwing another roof over it wasn’t the right answer. The existing structure had seen much better days. It was worn out, unstable, and honestly just took away from an otherwise beautiful home.

So we tore it completely apart.

✔️ Reframed the entire structure from scratch.
✔️ Reinforced the interior block wall.
✔️ Built a much stronger support system.
✔️ Wrapped the sides to match the home’s siding.
✔️ Finished it with Black Frost steel in a clean board-and-batten design.

A lot of people have asked why we didn’t install exterior handles.

Simple answer… because that’s exactly how the homeowners wanted it.

This space is only accessed on the rare occasion they need to move something large into the basement. The rest of the time they wanted it clean, flush, and to blend seamlessly into the home. No unnecessary hardware sticking out, just a finished product that looked intentional.

We also chose the board-and-batten steel instead of a standing seam profile. Their kids love climbing and playing on this area, and we felt the flatter profile was the better, safer choice while still tying everything together with the rest of the home.

The funny part?

Kate Kline kept joking with me…

“You’re actually going to build that yourself?”

😂

Well… yep.

I had one of my guys helping me, especially with getting the doors perfectly aligned and making sure every rib lined up just right. Anyone who’s worked with steel knows that getting those reveal lines straight while keeping both doors square isn’t as easy as it looks. He absolutely knocked it out of the park, and that’s what RT Innovations is all about—working together to build something we’re proud to put our name on.

Looking back now, it’s hard to believe this little project was where RT Innovations officially started.

Today we’re tackling insurance restorations, roofs, siding, windows, additions, and some incredible projects with an amazing group of customers.

But this one…

This one will always have a special place for me.

Another home back together. 💪🏠

We were referred by one of our customers to help a homeowner after the recent storms ripped approximately 200 square feet of siding off their home.

Like many insurance claims, the process wasn’t exactly smooth, but we weren’t about to let that keep this family looking at house wrap any longer.

This morning our crew got everything wrapped up, including replacing the missing siding and taking care of a few temporary shingle repairs to help protect the roof until any additional work can be addressed.

Now their house looks like a home again—and that’s what it’s all about.

🎉 Today feels like a win. A big one.

After weeks of inspections, documentation, photos, estimates, and endless emails back and forth, we finally received some great news.

Nearly $94,000 has now been approved toward restoring a local young man’s home and property after a massive tree caused substantial damage to his house and attached garage.

And I’ll be honest… this one means a little more to me.

When I started RT Innovations, I never intended to dive heavily into insurance restoration work. The process can be overwhelming, and unfortunately, a lot of families simply don’t know what questions to ask or how to communicate the true extent of the repairs their home may require.

So we kept working.

We kept documenting.

We kept communicating the construction concerns we saw.

And today, seeing this family finally have a clear path toward putting their home back together was incredibly rewarding.

It’s also made me rethink another side of RT Innovations.

At the end of the day, we’re about families and their homes. We build them, improve them, repair them, and do our best to keep them safe for years to come.

Maybe helping families through the construction side of a major insurance restoration isn’t really any different.
