Today ~ We Celebrate a Quarter Century of Service!

Started on April 1st, 1996 by father and son team Darwyn and Troy ~ Hansen's Custom Countertops was created with the belief that there was a segment of consumer that wasn't being serviced. With Darwyn’s high level of countertop expertise in fabrication and installation and my ability to connect with people for the sales and business management, the roles were set for the foundation of what would eventually become a 25 year old family business.

Our goal then was to start a company that could be an all-in-one source for homeowners wanting to work with one company for each element of their kitchen remodel project, something that was forward thinking at the time. Fortunately, that foresight, along with a great ‘word-of-mouth’ reputation, Hansen’s was able to flourish and expand working on that very same concept.

The year 2006 saw the retirement of Darwyn and marked the end of over ten years of working side by side everyday with me…
Although bittersweet, it was great to see Darwyn join my mom Pat in retirement and enjoy the life they’ve both worked so hard to achieve.

The same way that everyday life has changed over the last 25 years, Hansen’s has had to adapt in every aspect… This includes not only the new and exciting material options, but the way that they’re actually sold. Unlike when we started, today’s consumer wants to be able to have their project proposed, the materials selected and their contracts written, all from the comfort of their own home. With our ability to have most material samples mailed direct to the home ~ Hansen’s has excelled with this new format. All while still holding true to our traditional style of commerce for those who are wanting a true one-on-one buying experience.

We’re excited to see what the next chapter holds for Hansen’s Custom Countertops… With home remodeling at an all-time high, the foreseeable future will certainly be an exciting time. As the industry is ever evolving, Hansen’s will strive to not only keep pace, but to be at the forefront of the next level of service… Just like we were on April 1st, 1996

Hansen’s is incredibly proud to have earned this prestigious award for the 9th time in the last 15 years. “We are so fortunate to have our high quality Angie’s List customers spread the word about our commitment to quality and our standard of excellence above and beyond our competition,” stated company owner Troy Hansen. “Being recognized for consistently delivering a high quality finished product while still being able to offer a high level of value for 25 years … that’s truly our biggest accomplishment”.
"Because It’s a really high standard to meet, only about 5 percent of the Countertop companies in the Twin Cities have performed so consistently well enough to earn our Super Service Award,” said Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks.
Angie’s List Super Service Award 2020 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade; the company must be in good standing with Angie’s List, pass a background check and abide by Angie’s List operational guidelines.
