Sometimes a project takes shape not from a client’s request, but from a place of doubts. In the past few months I’ve been trying to reflect on how our ways of inhabiting change - in spaces, relationships, habits and time.

Perhaps designing today means mostly mending, reconnecting disciplines, memories, materials. I find myself more and more between architecture and writing, with the same desire for some form of truth.

I will be soon taking part in new researches experiences to explore the relationship between history, literature and the built environment. If you know programs or institutions working in this intersection — or if you question how beauty, time, and identity inhabit space — I’d love to connect.

Not every project brings the same satisfaction, but this one had some ingredients that made it special since the beginning - we formed a team with the client and the vendors based on immense trust and mutual consideration. These baisic things are what truly made my first restaurant project into an award winning one (well, two awards really, but so to speak!).

At the end of September, I had the opportunity to present the project at in Bologna. I was quite nervous to be presenting in my country of origin, but ended up having a wonderful experience and meeting some amazing colleagues whose advices I’ll be treasuring for a long time ahead.

Thank you for the photos that got us the awards and for the beautiful Calathea and Pavoncella tiles!

Today I’ve been interviewed about the current role of decorative ceramic tiles for interior applications. One of my studio’s case-studies that I referred to is this Gelato shop in Verona that I designed for my family.

In this project, the shape of the Pavoncella tiles by Acquario Due refers to the idea of an ice-cream scoop. The colors are combined to obtain a retrò and pop appearance that refers to the name of the shop, ‘Come Prima’, the Italian for ‘Like Before’.

Stay tuned to read the article as soon as it’s out!

The Parlor Level, where history can breathe again.

In this townhouse, every gesture was guided by respect - for the history it reveals, for the quiet identity layered through time.

We preserved the original wooden details, freeing them from later, false historic decorations. We let natural light rewrite the space. The original past was not erased, only listened to.

Every project we undertake begins this way - with an architecture that listens before if speaks. Spaces are not trophies, they are portraits of those who inhabit them.

Design studies for a proposed bathroom with a wet area that recalls a relaxing cave, away from the city’s stressful rhythms. The finishes chosen for this space are minimal but warm and natural - microcement, marble accents, walnut.
