How to avoid making art at any price point look cheap, starting with the caveat:
Lower priced quality art is different from actual cheap big box art. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and how we can distinguish. (We never get clients the latter.)
And here’s what we do:
1. Use quality frames with quality glass. A light plastic frame, separated corners, and foggy plexiglass make any art look worse.
2. Install art properly. Hardware should not be peeking out, art should be parallel and flush to the wall, and the centers of different pieces in a room should align to create a cohesive feel.
3. Curate thoughtfully. Mix high and low priced art, integrate different media, and play with balance and scale.
