Great interview between Urgent Matter and Erin Schuppert on Affordable Art Fair NYC ahead of the Fall edition this September đź’“ Thank you Adam!

"The fair also puts a fellow's artists in front of an audience the gallery could not draw on its own: more than 15,000 visitors an edition and 18,000 last spring. "A new gallery might not see that in a weekend," Schuppert said. After the fellowship, a gallery is guaranteed at least one edition as a standard exhibitor.

“Galleries who are coming back to the fair time and time again are always seeing new potential collectors,” Schuppert said."

Since having my second baby, Dylan, I've been head down focusing on client work and wanted to do a short re-introduction for anyone new here as Domingo Comms turns six this summer.

A lot has evolved, especially over the last year. I've spent some time updating my website to reflect something I've been thinking about for a while - refining what I offer clients and creating a place for the people I'm constantly emailing, pitching, and talking to online - to learn a little more about me and put a face to the name.

What I want to come across is that Domingo Comms combines communications strategy and public relations. That includes press releases, media outreach, applications, artist statements, partnerships, and strategic planning, but also the thinking behind it - how to position a project, exhibition, or message; where to focus energy; and which opportunities are worth pursuing.

If I've reached out to you about coverage or a partnership, I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and why I think my clients deserve your attention and collaboration.

The work has become much more full-circle than I ever expected when I started Domingo in 2020, and I feel incredibly grateful to the clients, collaborators, artists, galleries, fairs, and organizations who've trusted me along the way.

Here's to another six,
Veronica

"The number one rule when thinking about buying or collecting art is to look at art. All kinds of art. Paintings, sculptures, photography, street art, graffiti, ceramics, textiles, fashion, comics. Look in museums and galleries, look at fairs. Look constantly. Spend hours and days and weeks and years looking. Looking is important because the number one rule when buying art is to buy what you love. You can’t know what you love without having determined what you love and you do that by looking. Buy what you love. Don’t try to “game” the art market or buy with an eye on reselling for a profit. That ecosystem only exists in the upper echelons of the art world." -

If you’re in Long Island City this weekend, Ardent Longing at is a must-see. This two-person exhibition features Chicago-based painter and Brooklyn-based artist and it’s your last chance to experience their work in person.

Though their approaches differ, both artists explore the fragility of structures - architectural, psychological, and existential - and reveal how the built environment mirrors the contingencies of human experience.

Dan Oliver (b. 1963) has exhibited internationally, including in Asia, Europe, and across the U.S., and his recent work continues to explore transformation and impermanence through fire and domestic interiors. Tiantian Lou (b. 1995) works in painting, sculpture, textiles, and printmaking, and has exhibited at international venues including Centre of Contemporary Art, Vancouver; Volta Art Fair, Basel; Shu Museum, Beijing; and Untitled Art Fair, Miami.

Huge thanks to , , Alexandra Jhamb Burns for bringing the collector conversations series to life! 🫶🏻

The first interview is full of insight into how visitors like Piper discover collecting in their own way - even when they don’t see themselves as collectors. Such a brilliant way to kick off the year! Full article link in bio.
