🔌💡Electrical Safety Tip 🔌💡

✨Flickering lights ✨
A flickering light usually indicates an issue with the wiring, or the bulb itself. Check that all bulbs are secure and replace burnt-out bulbs. If this does not resolve the flickering problem, it may be caused by a loose connection or bad wiring.

Today I ran into a good example of how a shortcut during installation can cause a major headache down the road. My customer had been having issues with different circuits in the house not working and it had been getting worse over time. After one other electrician and two linemen were stumped by the issue I got the call and was able to identify the problem pretty quickly. When the service entrance was originally installed, someone used split bolts which aren't intended to be used with aluminium conductors. This caused corrosion, resistance and heat to build up over time which lead to a gradual drop in the voltage coming into the house. Enough heat to melt the tape around the connection. After cutting out the bad joints and putting on the new and proper crimps the customer was happy to have power in the house again. Luckily, it was fixed before it caused a fire. If it wasn't installed by someone you know and trust, have it inspected by someone you do! Happy holidays, folks!

I'm going to give you guys some updates and examples of my work on here. This morning was a nice easy layup. My customer had an old security light that needed replaced. Then this afternoon I have my apprentice (Bug) with me who is going to help me get caught up on estimates. I should have some bigger projects like panel swaps coming up that will give some good before-and-afters. I'll try to dig up some of my previous projects too. 😎⚡
