Surinam cherry plants I started from seed, grew them up to a 3gallon pot and planted them at my clients a few years ago. Hard to see in the video but there are a ton of little green fruits set for the next flush. 🍒

Hey y'all, as a fellow resident of Brooksville i want to bring to attention that on 11-2-24 the county will be spraying a very toxic substance "Naled" into our local sky. I urge you to contact Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson +1 (850) 487-5010 if you are against this.

Quotes from the OSHA safety data sheets:

"May cause anemia, cough, CNS depression, drowsiness, headache, heart damage, lassitude (weakness, exhaustion), liver damage, narcosis, reproductive effects, teratogenic effects.
No further relevant information available."

"Very toxic to aquatic life"

"Avoid release to the environment"

"Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water."

Here is the link to the safety data sheet for you to read yourself

Back in 2015 when I quit an abusive landscaping job and decided to pursue my dream of becoming a farmer. My good friend and coworker Taylor Walker inspired me with the confidence & knowledge to do so.
Not having land of my own, I searched for a place that I could start a garden and sell produce at the Tasty Tuesday market in New Port Richey. I ended up at an old rundown nursery on the corner of Grand blvd & Sunray dr in Holiday, Fl. After meeting with the owner, building a relationship, I wrote up an agreement and began my journey by cleaning up the place.
It took a lot of effort & heart to get started but I ended up cleaning the section we agreed upon. I gathered free mulch / compost, bought seeds & a gallon of fish fertilizer with the little extra money I had. Started by growing green beans and herb plants with good success. I used the free tables supplied by the market for my set up and sold the plants and produce I grew.
Looking back I had a great time hustling and learned so much.
Today I still continue the journey of farming at a place I can call my own. I’ve transitioned from growing my “HomeGrown Greens”, selling at markets, to teaching people how to grow their own food and installing gardens around Tampa Bay.
I greatly appreciate everyone who has supported & believed in me over the years.

✨Roselle✨ One of the best plants to grow in Florida's hot summer!

Also know as Jamaican Sorrel or Florida Cranberry, this plant thrives in the heat. The leaves are edible and produces succulent calyxes in the fall that make a delicious zinger tea or homemade cranberry sauce. High in antioxidants & vitamin C❤️

We've selected seeds over years of cultivation to produce this extra large calyx variety.

This year’s watermelon season was a good one! This is one of our favorite fruits to grow. They ripen in the hottest part of the year, making it the perfect hydrating treat. They grow so fast compared to most fruits, going from seed to ripened fruit in just a few months. And our animals get the scraps! Growing watermelon is an overall win!🍉
