Thanks to Dan Small for submitting an article on this year’s event. 😊 One note missed in the article about the ACE Academy program is that even though the classes are at the FDL High School, it is open to all surrounding high school students. Dave would be amazed and proud of what has become of this event! 🥰

Here are some raffle items for the clay shoot this Friday. Stop in at the Mayville Gun Club and support the Dave Cook “Shooting for Scholarships” event. This year, the two funds created gave over $8000 in scholarships/grants to support high school and first year college students who have entered in the building and trades industry. Thank you Pat for the kind words ❤️ and for always donating the caps each year for this great cause. Also, thank you to the Michels family and their Foundation for helping build this fund up to where it is today. ❤️❤️
I think Dave would never have imagined how much his funds have done and will do to help students in the building trades industry. $57,000 was deposited from this event and donations this year.

SO TODAY a friend shared this article. MY TEAM 💕was featured in the latest edition of Wisconsin outdoor news. (Sorry for the rotation of this article.)
But ….. the message is important.

In Dave’s memory and his passion of giving and hunting and shooting.

But more importantly he was a teacher. He so wanted to teach his trade.

One of the last words Dave said to me was MORE… it was actually while enjoying a cowboy cookie but it was a symbol of his life.

It’s that time of year again! Stop out at the Mayville Gun Club for the Dave Cook “Shooting for Scholarships” Clay Shoot this Friday, September 22nd. There are approximately 110 shooters this year! We have some great raffle items along with a gun raffle. In addition, we have exciting news about changes to Dave’s fund. Bob Roehrig, from the Ace Academy Program, and Molly Waldschmidt-Jaster, from the FDL Area Foundation, will come and speak at noon about the changes that are being implemented.
Thank you to Drexel for the donation of tee shirts, Initial Design for donating hats, and Luedtke Lumber for donating drink tickets. Also, a shout out to the Mayville Gun Club and the Eastern Ridge Home Builders Association, especially Sandra Karst, Ann Krapfl, and Shelley Eilbes, for helping make this event possible!
