Last porch of the year and of course we saved the worst for last. 10 piers needed to be dug on this monster!! Some 12 inch rounds some 24 inch rounds. Of course you never know what's underneath it till you rip it apart and under this one was the old porch, collapsed brick piers, block piers, wooden piers and whole a bunch of other nonsense that wasn't needed 😂🤣. The door and mudd room didn't even have a header under it so there was one of the multiple upcharges on this project, which seems to be the norm lately with these type of projects. In the spring we'll be back to take the roof section off and replace that next as it was not in good condition. Problem is it's built into the same mudd room as well. But all and all the customer is very happy even with the upcharges as she knew it was going to happen just as we did, just didn't know the severity of it till it was opened up. Dan J Burke will be there in the spring to get it stained for her when the weather breaks. Need a porch rebuilt or built? Another one in the books and another happy customer! Client called and said they were ripped off by a local contractor and needed the job done asap. The post was tough to get in and out but we were able to save it! Grey composite decking, white toe kicks and white railings with black bulsters. The last major project for this massive rebuild was the master bath! Forgot to get a picture of the old bath as always 🤦‍♂️. The client wanted curbless with the Schulter pan installed. As we have never built our pans with this product, and to keep the warranty the product holds we called the local Schulter install rep which just so happened to be my good friend Joe Ballard, Shout out to him for the install and the schooling on how the system worked. Then after that we dealt with expansive warped tile for the outer walls, and the shower walls we had to rip down 4 foot tiles to hold the sun pattern that wasn't just stacked as she seen in the picture she found. We started this project with the intention of just ripping off the railings, wheelchair ramp, and replacing a couple of deck boards. Of course as everybody knows, you don't know what's underneath these until you start taking them apart. We tried to save as much of the original deck as possible to keep the cost down for her. This is part 3 and 4 of the Lancaster project. After we finished up the kitchen install that the contractor before us was butchering badly, ( no before pics, he did the demo) she said she wanted to have the doors and trim in the house to match the stools from the island. Another one in the books!! Strip off the old siding in sections, new siding, scallops, soffits, fascia and gutters all around. Right in the middle of the job we noticed the roof was chopped up and really bad in areas. So I contracted a roofer for the client and got that taken care of, right in the middle of the job 🤦‍♂️😅😂🤣. Roughly about 4 years ago, we did a very big office build out for Twin Village Recycling on Broadway in Lancaster. I got a phone call from her for a small drywall job in a house they owned across the street from the office as the ceiling collapsed and the wall was rotting out under the window. When we wrapped it up I met her on site to go over the completed job. While I was there she said you do such amazing work! I wish you did residential. My next statement was, what made you think I didn't do residential work? The look on her face was priceless, then she pulled her phone out and called the contractor she had remodeling her house and fired him in front of me over the phone. I didn't even tell her that I had availability or anything yet. So I followed her over to her house and went over what he was trying to do and it was bad and he was there for a year already. So for the last year I've had a team of employees at her house literally rebuilding it from one end to the other. There are about 7 projects we completed and none of them were small. The first one was remove popcorn ceilings through the living room dining room and hallways. Easy enough. Then the real fun began, second job was taking the two walk in closets in the master bedroom and making them one big beautiful closet by building a wall on each side of the fireplace in the living room and then pushing the front wall out a foot and removing the center wall piece in the hardwood floor and then install cabinets. I think we knocked this out of the park. And then her famous words after we finished one project. Ok while you're here, here's the next project!! 😂🤣😅 we also changed the color of the fireplace stone to liven it up a bit.
