We would like to formally congratulate Mint Mojito Bar in their success in invigorating our friendly city, and for the tireless efforts that made that happen. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude for allowing us to be a part of that mission.

We spent about 3 months working with Chris and Alison, turning an empty building into a truly wonderful place to spend an evening with friends and family. From paint colors, to the meticulous tile work throughout this groovy bar, we worked side by side designing a space and setting a mood that would bring people together, to just have a good time.

Not a detail was spared in bringing this dream to life, and that’s not hard to grasp when you walk through the door. I can not describe the amount of dedication and hard work that went into this project - on our end, and the proud owners alike. To say this was a learning experience is understated, and we look forward to using this knowledge to the best of our abilities in the future.

I cannot leave out our great friend Angelo, Nickel City Metal Works, for his hard work in fabricating our table bases and our foot rail, along with some other quality work, as always.

Here’s to a bright future of freedom, success, and simply having a good time.
Everything’s fine.
Cheers

Over the summer, we were fortunate enough to meet a wonderful couple that we worked tirelessly with for several weeks to bring this beautiful, fully custom master bathroom, to life.

What started as a bedroom, this huge bathroom had been constructed in the 90’s, whirlpool bath tub and all.

We tore this 140 square foot bathroom down to studs, built out a 4’ by 8’ walk in shower, filled it with custom cabinetry and built ins, and added a custom touch to every piece we could. We worked with New York Kitchen & Bath for the stone countertops and vanity cabinet. There is close to 750 square feet of custom tile work throughout the room from herringbone concrete floor tile, to mosaic flooring in the massive shower. We incorporated pacific knotty cedar planking wherever we could, including a waterproofed rear wall in the shower. We repurposed some of the original moulding such as baseboards and window casings, and used some refinished casing we cleaned up for the door. The room is fitted with custom made shower accessories and light fixtures throughout. Pictures really do not do this bathroom justice.

From floor to ceiling we put as many personal, custom touches into this project that we could. Our goal, in-line with the intentions of the homeowners, was to modernize a neglected space while preserving the integrity of this 1800’s era home. And I believe we did just that.

It was nothing but a pleasure, throughout the entire process working with these customers. We want to be as open, and involved with our customers as possible so we can provide the highest quality of work possible. And truly bring your ideas to life.

Contact Black Cat Restoration if you’re looking for high quality work, done with pride.

This is a Lou Hodges designed coffee table built around the late 1960s, early 1970s. We have restored it to its original beauty, and it is looking for a new home.

It is solid red oak. We disassembled and sanded the pieces down to raw wood, stained, and finished with natural linseed oil. We had a new piece of tempered glass cut to size for the top of the table. It is roughly 3’ by 3’ and about 15” tall.

We were contracted to do some repairs on some pocket doors that were hung over 100 years ago.

Finding the right parts for a project like this isn’t always simple. We somehow managed to come by the same plates that were once on this door, unfortunately covered in layers of paint.

We sandblasted them down to raw metal and unfortunately discovered not brass, but steel. We used a patina wash to give them a tarnished feel, and used some gold acrylic to really emphasize that worn-in look.

We have experience in many fields of restoration. Let us hear what you’ve got.

Woodwork restoration on the front of the main gable of this Buffalo, NY home.

The decorative woodwork on this house was deteriorated. We reconstructed it to its originally beauty, and repainted everything to what it once was.

We really enjoy bringing the old, beautiful carpentry you find around Buffalo back to life. It’s never too late to save the beauty someone once put a lot of pride and hard work into.

Let us help you bring that beauty back to life.

Sunroom renovation for a wonderful couple.

This room was converted from a porch to an enclosed room sometime around the 1950s we believe.

We brought this room to life with new vinyl windows on either side to replace the deteriorated wood windows that could no longer open. This brought a cool breeze through the room and completely changed the atmosphere. We leveled the floor and added some insulation to help control the climate a little better. The floor then had heating elements installed under new luxury vinyl flooring.

We installed a new ceiling fan, and updated the old sconce on the wall with a super cool, modern piece. The walls were patched in with clapboard to match the original work, and the customer chose a wonderful, fun shade of pink to finish it all off.

We had a great time working for this customer. We like to be involved with our customers as much as we can, if you have a space that needs some love but don’t know where to start, we can help design a place you and your family can enjoy for years to come.

Give us a call for a free estimate and we’ll bring your ideas to life.

Custom butcher block countertops. One and a half inch, solid maple butcher block.

These countertops started out as solid wood table tops that were pulled from a scince classroom in the University at Buffalo, sometime around the 1980s. They had been sitting in a garage waiting to be put to good use.

We ripped them down to manageable sizes and planed them to a consistent level before reassembling them and cutting them to our shapes.
They were finished with General Finishes arm-r-seal.

If you’re looking to add some natural beauty to your kitchen, butcher block is a great solution. Give us a call for a quote at no cost to you.

Entryway Restoration in Buffalo, NY.

This entryway had been badly damaged by the elements. The entire thing from the ground up was reproduced to its original beauty.

Constructed with pine and cedar, fiberglass columns, and given a new roof, this entryway brings a new life to this unique home. The entire thing was given a few coats of high gloss enamel giving it a beautiful shine, anytime of the day.

We really enjoyed this project, and working with these great customers.
