Meet Coco 💚

Coco is a recent owner surrender and this handsome male green cheek conure is looking for a home of his own. And like all green cheeks…he is equal parts hilarious, cuddly, active, and just a little bit sassy 😅

For everyone who comes in asking if they can adopt Soya (who is NOT available 😆) — may we introduce you to Coco.

Here’s what we know about this little guy:
✨ Loves snuggling and being with his people
✨ Will happily fly to you for attention
✨ Enjoys showers in our little bird shower
✨ Loves his swing and staying active
✨ Eats his fruits and veggies 🍎🥦
✨ Working on “step up” and making progress
✨ Potentially talks — several people have said he says words

Coco isn’t especially loud for a conure and could make a good apartment bird for the right home. He can be a little nippy at times (because conure 😅), but we’re actively working on that with him.

As for people preferences? He seems pretty social overall. We’ve noticed he sometimes chooses to fly to men more often, but he’s friendly with all of us girls at the shop too.

One thing to know: Coco can be a little sassy with other birds, so if you have feathered roommates already, you’ll want to supervise introductions and interactions carefully.

Green cheek conures are active, affectionate, funny little birds that want to be involved in your life — and Coco is no exception 💚

We genuinely cannot understand how Leidi is still here because she is one of our absolute favorites in the shop 💚

What’s not to love about Leidi?

✨ Super sweet
✨ Friendly and funny
✨ Loves kisses
✨ Dances to Bad Bunny and Selena
✨ Laughs at your jokes (seriously — but only if they’re actually funny 😂)
✨ Says “step up”
✨ Wants to be involved in EVERYTHING you are doing

Leidi is the kind of bird who just wants to be with her person. She thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time — work from home folks, retirees, or homebodies, this might be your girl.

As parrots go, she isn’t super loud, but she’s not quiet either. She does enjoy announcing where she’s flying and making sure everyone is aware of her very important business.

One important note: Leidi definitely prefers women and has consistently shown that preference, so we think she would do best in a home with women.

She is sweet, social, incredibly special, and honestly would make a wonderful beginner bird for the right person willing to invest time into building a bond.

If you’re looking for a tiny best friend who wants to be your shadow, Leidi might be your perfect match 💚

Meet Kai, Boba, Kaki, and Koda 💚🐦

These four adorable parakeets came to us together and spend their days doing what parakeets do best: playing with toys, chatting, causing harmless chaos, and entertaining us with their silly antics and interactions with each other.

They LOVE toys, enjoy each other’s company, and have sweet little voices that are lovely to listen to — not super loud, just the happy sounds of tiny birds going about their tiny bird business.

In their previous home, they enjoyed time outside the cage and interacting with their people. Unfortunately, we can’t safely let them out in the shop because of our larger parrots, so we know there’s even more personality waiting to shine in a home environment.

These are GREAT beginner bird.

We would love for them to stay together, but we can separate them into pairs for the right homes since they do well with companionship.

Today is Pride 🌈🌿

A heads up that the street will be closed for the parade, so please plan your visit accordingly — but we’ll be OPEN throughout Pride!

Pride matters because everyone deserves spaces where they can grow safely, exist authentically, and be celebrated for exactly who they are. Plants thrive when their environment allows them to. People do too.

Looking back through these photos from the last few years reminds us how much joy, community, weirdness, glitter, and love fills this neighborhood ❤️

Whether you’re marching, celebrating, supporting, or just stopping in to escape the crowds and look at plants, we’re glad you’re here.

Paphiopedilums are finally starting to open and we are OBSESSED. 🌿✨

These incredible terrestrial orchids — often called “slipper orchids” — look wildly exotic, but they’re surprisingly easy to care for compared to many orchids. Their dramatic patterns, alien-like blooms, and long-lasting flowers make them absolute collector favorites.

If you’ve been wanting an orchid that feels rare, unusual, and conversation-starting without being fussy, this is your sign. Come see them before they disappear because honestly…we kind of want to keep them all ourselves. 👀🪴
