A winter storm will affect Southeast Texas late tonight and persist through about noon Tuesday with accumulating snow. The snow is forecast to significantly ramp up after about 10 pm. 1 to 2 inches of snow is forecast for the Lakes Area through Tuesday. Inland Southeast Texas (Hardin, S Jasper and S Newton County) can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow with higher amounts possible through Tuesday Afternoon. The Triangle can expect 2-4 inches with up to 6 inches possible through Tuesday Afternoon. Port Arthur/Mid-County appear to have the highest chances for the greatest amounts of snow totals. Moderate to major effects are expected with respect to travel. Wednesday Morning will be the coldest so, take care of the Four āPās.ā Be careful warming your home and check in on the elderly to ensure they are warm. Bring Pets indoors. Consider turning off your water to protect Pipes. Cover or bring Plants Indoors. Also, check your antifreeze in your automobile.
Tonight: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Southeast Texas. Precipitation will significantly ramp up after about 10 pm and persist overnight and increase in intensity towards daybreak. A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect. Low temperatures Tuesday Morning will be in the lower to middle 20s with Wind Chills in the middle to upper teens.
Tuesday: A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect. Snow will come to an end late morning in the Lakes Area and around noon in the Triangle. Total storm snow accumulations in the Lakes Area will be around 1-2 inches and 2-4 inches in the Triangle with over 6 plus inches possible mainly towards Port Arthur. The sun is expected to return Tuesday Afternoon. Highs will only be in the lower to middle 30s. Wind Chills will remain in the lower to middle twenties.
Wednesday morning low temperatures will be in the middle teens with Wind Chills near ten degrees to the lower teens. No precipitation is expected.
Wednesday afternoon mostly sunny skies are forecast with highs in the middle to upper 30s. No precipitation is expected.
Thursday morning lows temperatures will be in the upper teens to lower 20s with Wind Chills in the upper teens to around 20. No precipitation is expected.
Thursday afternoon highs will be in the lower to middle 40s under mostly sunny skies. No precipitation is expected.
Friday morning low temperatures will be in the lower to middle 20s with Wind Chills in the lower 20s.
Friday afternoon warmer weather is forecast with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. No precipitation is expected.
Sunday and Monday, warmer weather is forecast with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the middle 50s with highs in the lower to middle 60s.
