Good morning everyone. Finally settled into the new location. Still have the same service area, but able to serve northern Kentucky even faster. We've had some weather in the past weeks, let me know if you need anything done. Siding and facia repairs, gutter fixes, limb clearing. Also, spring is here, time for those pressure washes and deck repairs for the coming warm days. Just let me know what you need. Have a great and safe day, get something accomplished and be thankful for the day!

Very busy day planned today. Need to get the back wall repaired, fix the deck issues, paint the awning over the back door, and finish the mortar joints around the brick veneer. If I can get that all done today, tomorrow morning I will be able to pressure was the deck and get all the mold and mildew stripped off before the rain comes in to give it a final rinse.

Yesterday was a good day. I got the back deck light installed which required replacing the wire feeding the switch because it had bare spots inside the wall with no insulation on it.😬 Fire hazard diverted! Another issue tackled was a water leak from upstairs that had stained the ceiling on the first floor. After inspecting the shower tub I noticed some joints in the tile that had opened up and were in the similar spot of the leak. Those got filled with Silicone and hopefully that solved the problem. If not there is going to be major work needed because the tub is on a second floor exterior wall. Hoping for the best.

The projects on this house have been going very well, and I am happy to be given the opportunity to do the work. Hope everyone has a great and productive day. Stay warm, stay safe, and get something accomplished!

It was a great day today. Started off cold and windy but was able to finish painting the front cornice and front door frame. Got done just in time, the Duke energy guy pulled up just as I set my paint brush down to reconnect the electrical service to the house. Tomorrow will be completing the back porch light and mortaring the brick veneer. Hope everyone had a great day today and got something accomplished that might have been waiting.

It's been a busy week for the St. Bernard house. Got most of the exterior painting done, almost ready to mortar the brick repairs, then on to the big challenge of fixing the back of the house where the deck attaches. There will need to be a new rim joist put in so that the deck can be properly secured to the house. Also have door refinishing, some lights to put in and possibly a storm door on the front. Progress should move faster now since I am not dodging debris from roofers overhead.

Finished up the floor touch-up this morning on the bathroom remodel. There was still floor adhesive that was not dry.😡 Not sure what problem is with that stuff, but it is going in the trash and being noted as not to use in that application. I think overall everything turned out very nice.

Please keep in mind if you have projects that you need done, always check out a handyman first. A good handyman can complete skilled labor jobs, and most of the times cheaper than a specialist or a big commercial remodeling or renovation company. A handyman is not just for general labor tasks, some may be, but many can do those jobs that you would not consider them doing like installing new cabinets or changing out light fixtures. Always check with your local handyman first, because they can also accomplish a variety of other tasks on one visit.

Anyway, the weekend is here, and it is time to relax a bit and visit with some friends and family. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend, and gets something done that's been put off too long. See ya next week!

Having a bit of a rest day today, giving my knees a break from crawling around on the floor for the past 2 days. Which means I'm doing my house work and chores today. Got the bathroom completed, except for the finishing touch-up of the flooring. I'm not sure if I used the wrong adhesive or there is just not enough air movement through that bathroom, but the glue just won't dry. Even the Silicone put on the shower doors was still tacky after 24hrs. I guess it really is a perfect combination of humidity and lack of air flow. I will return on Friday to finish up the wipe down of any surface glue and fill any gaps in the tiles. Other than the issue with the floor I think it turned out great. I will have completed pictures on Friday. Can't wait!!

Have a great day, be safe, and get something accomplished.

Been a good week so far on the bathroom remodel. Day 1 got the trim pulled, lights installed, shower doors installed, and all the paint cut in done. Day 2 got the toilet and vanity pulled, all painting done, new floor put down, and new toilet set. Tomorrow should be setting new vanity, plumbing in the new sink and faucet, hanging the new mirror, and getting the trim put back up. With any luck it should be wrapped up tomorrow.

It's been a while since I've posted as last week I was down with a cold, flu, sinus something. But, I am back at it again. Yesterday I was able to get some work done on the gutters as they are in need of serious attention.

1st issue is the gutter boards are nonexistent for more than half the south side of the house. An old bandaid repair was made when a second layer of shingles were added to repair some of the rotten tongue and groove roof sheathing. The problem is the person used plywood for the repair and never wrapped it in aluminum or put up a drip ledge. So, the roof water was able to soak into it and cause it to buckle, separate, and warp.

I removed the vinyl soffit below, cut out the old plywood, and installed step flashing that tucked under the shingles and overlapped into the gutters. I know, another bandaid fix. But, it will atleast keep the water going into the gutters until we get several consecutive days of dry and warm weather to fix it right.

After this week I will be booked up for the following three weeks with two big projects. The first is a bathroom remodel on the other side of town. This job will entail; new tile floor, new toilet, new vanity, new lighting, new shower doors, new paint color, and a few various bathroom fixtures. Details are still fleshing out for the second project but I will update as they are available.

Hope everyone weathered the storms well. If not let me know if you have any repairs that need done. I can get to them this week before I am locked in for the rest of the month. Have a safe and productive day!

Well, yesterday did not work out as expected at all. Finishing my coffee I got a little tickle in the back of my throat. That started a bit of a coughing fit. No worries. But, then it continued, to the point of being annoying. Nose immediately started getting stuffed up so it was game on. All hands on deck, we got a cold coming on!

Priorities food, meds, and rest. Food was not a problem. I made 3 healthy sized sandwiches and it was on to step 2 meds. I don't take meds often so this might pose a challenge. I did find some night time cold and flu medication that has only been expired for about 5 months. Sweet! Two doses left! Popped the first dose down and hit the bed for my body to go to war.

Woke up about 5pm, still a little stuffy, but my throat was feeling better. Took another dose, ate some more food, and laid back down. Got back up about 4am, feeling good but a little muscle achy from the down time.

Stinks that I lost a day of production on the gutters but glad to have knocked out the cold before it had a chance to set in. We will see how the day fares with such an early start. At best I might get one side done, but atleast it will be some progress. Hope everyone has a healthy and productive day with the warm weather we have been promised. Rain is coming so make sure those gutters and downspouts are clear, and that water is not sitting around your foundation. See ya all next time!

It was a good day yesterday. I was able to put a quote in for a return customer that has potential to lead into a lot of work. Not the best neighborhood, but the work should be exciting. It is another old home rehab.

I was not able to start work on my own place since there is still snow melting on the roof and gutters. I am hoping to get some progress made on them today since the Temps are going to be higher. I need to get both sides completed by Thursday before the rain moves in and I can confirm that everything is in good operation.

Ultimately the idea is to make sure there is no longer a water issue in the basement. Once I can confirm that problem has been resolved I can continue finishing that space. This house has a full basement which could double the listed square footage. There is already a toilet in the laundry room, so with some plumbing changes and a wall movement it would be possible to have another full bath downstairs. If the landlord would be willing to allow the install of two egress window wells then there could be two additional bedrooms. That would be a huge advantage to this home in the rental market. A three bedroom, two full bath, two car garage, with formal dining room and rec room in the middle of town could be a great rental opportunity. But, we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and productive day. Try and take advantage of the plentiful sunlight today and start making plans for those spring projects.

This week is looking open for opportunities if anyone has something they need done. Otherwise I am moving upward on the house this week to fix the gutter situation and the issues with the eaves. The gutters are in bad shape as it would appear the gutter boards are nonexistent. So, I will need to remove the vinyl soffit below and sister rafter tails on any that will not hold the new gutter boards and gutter hangers. Then install new gutter boards and drip ledge as well as rent a brake and wrap the new gutter board in aluminum. I figured I would screw in some eye hooks to hang the gutter below the soffit with bungee cords while I do the rest of the work so I don't risk bending or kicking them. Should make the installation pretty easy too since it will act as a second set of hands.

Anyway, off to bed we will see how the week starts off. I am getting excited about the warmer weather coming in and to get out on the disc golf courses again. I got a couple of winter inches that are ready to be shed.😊
