Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Full-Time - Competitive Pay Scale

Butte, MT

Jeffery Contracting is seeking qualified individuals to join our team. We are accepting applications for full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanics. Applicants should have knowledge of maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Heavy Equipment/Diesel Trucks and other equipment.

Responsibilities:

-Must have knowledge of maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Heavy Equipment/Diesel Trucks and other equipment

-Diagnosing problems in a major vehicle and heavy equipment components such as engines and transmissions and repairs or rebuilds as necessary, including oil and filter changes, lubricating parts, brake adjustments, transmission service, etc.;

-Documents identified problems and diagnose basic mechanical problems and repairs or replace defective parts.

-Discusses vehicle problems with operators in order to identify problems and explain what work may be required;

-Must have knowledge of complete preventive maintenance

-Maintains maintenance records/files on equipment, records information from daily time sheets onto equipment history forms; calculates oil consumption and determines service intervals;

-Must show attention to detail

-Must be compliant with all safety standards including Jeffery Contracting and OSHA.

Requirements:

-Must have a valid driver's license (Class A-CDL Preferred)

-Air Brake experience

-DOT Knowledge

-Must have 1 or more year of heavy equipment mechanic experience

-Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

● Must be able to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
● Must be able to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
● Must be able to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
● Must be able to follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
● Responsible for meeting attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
● Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening.
● Must be able to lift 50lbs.
● Must be reliable and on time daily.

● Knowledge of Trimble and Topcon GPS systems, data collectors and machine control.
● Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Products.
● Knowledge of appropriate principles and practices of surveying.

Qualifications:
● You must have a valid Class A CDL with doubles, triples, and tanker endorsements.
● Must be 18 years or older.
● Must maintain a current DOT Medical Card.
● Must have a good driving record.
● Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening.
● Must be able to lift 50lbs.
● Previous equipment hauling a plus.
● Must be able to adapt to different driving and weather conditions.

Responsibilities:
