We were so sorry to hear of the passing of a long time employee from many years ago.
James "Jimmy" Keahey, III., age 82, of Hanson, Kentucky, formerly of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
Born March 22, 1940, in Moss Point, Mississippi, he was the son of the late James Albert Keahey, II. and Margaret Locke Keahey. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Fourshee Building Supply for many years and also worked for Cadiz Motor Company. He served in the United States Army and was an avid hunter. Jimmy enjoyed collecting arrowheads and riding motorcycles. He and his good friend Jesse Thomas started Land Between the Lakes Trailriders in 1976, which still continues today.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Betty Curry Keahey; son, Bert Keahey and daughter-in-law, Roxanne Keahey; brother, Robert Louis Keahey; sisters, JoAnne Scott and Johnnie Partenheimer.
He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Winn (Jeff) of Fredonia, Ky.; grandchildren, Jose and Tony Ogaldez; great grandchild, Alan Ogaldez; brother, Charles (Linda) Michael Keahey, Sr. of Fairhope, Ala.; sister, Kay Berlage of Silverhill, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service hour of 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022, with eulogist Jesse Thomas and the Rev. Jamus Redd officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
