First we connect on a phone call to discuss your needs and desires for your space. Next we schedule an Initial Consultation to see the project, assess your needs directly and uncover what is and what is not working for you. Then, we work with your schedule to start the project and get you organized!

The challenge today was to organize a bathroom using what the client already had so they can function in that space until a few new products are come in next week.

As always, no matter the job, the first stage is to purge! We had a garbage full of expired products, empty bottles and product packaging which takes up so much space! Next we sorted and categorized - which means items that didn’t belong got relocated. Then everything else had a new home based on how and when it would be used in the bathroom by the client.

Overflow and extra product is in a large basket on the very top of the shelves (not pictured, new basket coming soon!). And the last drawer still needs more attention once we get the pieces to separate it out. I love the turntable to keep the frequently used products easily accessible. And whenever I can put cotton pads and q-tips in a jar I feel giddy. I also love the hair styling drawer - all the different elements have their own space 😍 like the hundreds of clips and hair pins!!

This was a quick and fun project. And I had fun doing it.

What are the benefits of getting organized?

EVERYTHING! You will find yourself having more time, less stress, you will know where everything is located (which saves time and huge headaches), and it will make your life easier and, more importantly, happier. Your environment plays a huge part on your attitude, outlook, and even blood pressure levels. When it’s in disarray, that will reflect and play an immediate part on your life. It makes life so much simpler when your environment is organized, clean, and it’s easy to find things.

Having a donation bin in a designated space in my house helps me keep on top of the things I want to get out of my house, which helps keep the clutter down - a big win in a house with 2 under 2!

Once it's loaded up, it's easy for me to grab and either take it to the donation center of my choice or pass it to a friend.

Sharing hand me downs a friend was always exciting when I was a kid. My aunt would drop off bags of clothes my cousins outgrew and my sisters and I would spend hours going through them to select what we wanted. It felt special cuz my cousins were so much older and so much cooler!

Recently it was the BIGGEST help when I had my daughter. One of my very good friends was looking to unload the clothes her daughters had grown out of and I received a generous amount of clothes from newborn to 2T. I still haven't had to buy clothes for my daughter! It was a blessing - and one that will continue with our sons.

Donating is a simple task that feels good to know that items are going to live on with someone else who needs them.

Quick Tip - Make Your Bed

One of my favorite ways to start my day is by making my bed. It hasn’t always been my favorite way to start the day! But today, I’m kinda obsessed. The thing is - it’s neat, it looks clean, it means I can sit on it and do things like make this post while my kids are sleeping and my husband works in the living room. And I like when things look clean, neat and inviting without much effort on my part.

You’ve probably heard all the great quotes about how making your bed in the morning means you’ve accomplished the first task of the day or how it gives you a sense of pride or gets you rolling onto finishing another task…and yeah, it turned out it was true for me. I didn’t believe it at first, but it really does give me a sense of serenity. And now I have to do it within the first few things I do in the morning before leaving my room and starting my day.

So, that’s my tip! What tips do you have? Any habits that you practice that kick off your day? Leave a comment below
