Let's Talk About Poppie😔

It seems we are overwhelmed with "special need" dogs right now at our shelter. I wish we had the time and patience these dogs deserve to help them work thru their issues. In a perfect world, we would have the time but that just isn't the case in a shelter that is already dealing with so many challenges. It's not their fault they are consumed with fear. It's not their fault they are struggling to find their safe place in a world that is very scary to them.

Poppie is at the top of our list of shelter dogs that need a Miracle. She has proven she can function in a home with someone that understands her special needs. It wasn't easy but she thrived and made great progress. We saw that while she and her puppies were in a foster home.

Sadly, Poppie had to return to our shelter after her puppies were old enough to be adopted. Poppie was posted dozens of times on our page, with no interest at all so the only option was to bring her back into our care. Now, she is totally shutdown as we struggle to find the extra time she needs to move forward in her journey to a loving home.

Poppie wants to love someone. She wants to feel safe. She wants to trust. She wants to be someone's everything. It is just going to take someone very special. Someone that needs her as much as needs them. A quiet and peaceful home. A lap to sit in. A sofa to lay on. No demands on her, just unconditional love to fill her days.

I have always believed in Miracles. I am praying we can find one for Poppie. She can't live out her life with her face buried in a corner. She deserves so much more in life.

Poppie is small. Only 30 lbs. She probably needs to be the only dog in a home. Please call me if you think you could be that special someone to turn her world around. She is lost in sadness right now.
