Thinking about one of those big-box epoxy garage floor kits? Here's what we tell folks first. 🔧

We install ArmorForge floor coatings all over West Michigan, and most of the peeling floors we're called to fix started as a weekend DIY kit. The reason is almost always the same: no real prep. A roll-on epoxy over a slab that was never ground or moisture-tested doesn't stand a chance against Michigan freeze-thaw and hot tires.

Our system is built to last: every slab gets moisture-tested first, then diamond-grind prep, a full-flake base coat, and a polyaspartic topcoat that cures rock-hard and won't yellow in the sun. On a custom home, the finish everyone admires is really about the prep no one sees. 🏡

After 25+ years painting new construction across West Michigan, here's the part that makes or breaks the job: raw drywall is thirsty and unforgiving. Before a drop of color goes on, we sand the whole surface smooth, spot-prime the repairs, caulk every seam and trim joint, and lay down a full primer coat so the topcoats sit even and true. Skip that and the sun finds every flaw the day it hits the wall — flashing, telegraphed seams, roller texture.

Do it right and you get dead-flat walls, crisp trim lines, and a finish that still looks sharp years after move-in. On a brand-new build with nothing to hide behind, the prep IS the paint job.

Fall is cabinet season, and where they get sprayed matters more than you'd think. 🪵

Kitchen and bath cabinets are the hardest-working surfaces in your house, and they're also where a brush-and-roll job shows every time. The difference is an off-site spray shop. We take the doors and drawer fronts back to our shop, degrease and sand them, and lay down a smooth, level, factory-grade finish in a clean, dust-free space, then reinstall. No brush marks, no dust nibs, and no fumes drifting through your home for a week.

Done right, refinished cabinets look brand new for a fraction of a full replacement, and they hold up to daily use.
