I attended 4 years of trading school there to become a painter. I took courses in color advice, safety at work, setting up scaffolds, etc. I even mastered older techniques of painting such as “peinture de Paris”. There, I was part of a crew which maintained the high-quality aesthetics of the Bruges Medieval Heritage Buildings such as the Belfry, City Hall, and more. We performed exterior paintwork
on brick & wood, interior painting, plastering, linoleum & carpet laying, wallpaper removal & hanging. After more than a decade of experience working in Bruges, opportunity came knocking – I was promoted to crew leader where I was responsible for all my crew members’ training & safety, one-on-one customer interactions, estimates, etc. Here, I continued to use my expertise of field work while learning new skills to accomplish the written part of the trade. I met my wife, Amanda in 2008 and moved to Calera, Alabama of the United States in 2011. I worked at a maintenance company in Birmingham for nearly 3 years where I learned how construction related projects are done in the U.S.A. My Belgian roots of hard-work and trust-worthy morals combined with the American fast-paced way made me want to start my own business.
