There is ALWAYS something to do and it is SO easy to become paralyzed from being overwhelmed.
Last year, we bought the farm in Calhoun and, with everything we needed to do inside the house, I didn't have a garden. My soul felt it deep. I love gardening so much. It's my church, my sanctuary, my peace. But, I managed through and this year will be different.
While I'm not sure I'll hit every goal, I am sure I'll make progress towards every goal and I call that in itself an achievement. So far, we have purchased a tractor, restarted the bee hives, started our chickens and began putting together a little kitchen garden close to the house to grow the salad makings and some herbs. I also cleaned up the garden at the old house and brought up some plants that ill be getting in the ground.
Over the next 2 weekends, we will plant our corn, sauce tomatoes, and green beans.
We should be getting some eggs by late May and we're considering buying our first rotation of cattle around the same time (if the stars align just right).
In the mix of all that, I have a lot of flowers that I want to start this year.
The point here is that gardening is never done. Keep working at it and pat yourself on the back when you complete something.
