- He’s a furniture flipper now!

I just wrapped my friends’ primary bedroom refresh with Valspar, but there was one last boring corner that needed storage. So I thrifted this solid oak dresser, sanded it down, and gave it a new life.

I used Color Series Oil-Based Stain in True Black for that deep, rich color, and sealed it with Polycrylic Max in Matte. Two coats of stain was all it took to get the perfect look.

Brought it back to their house and it totally transformed the space. 

If I can do this, you can too!

- Other than using , here are my top 5 painting hacks:

1. Prep is everything, make sure you fill all those nail holes, clean those dusty baseboards, wipe away dirt and oil, and mask off anything you don’t want to get paint on. 

2. Cut in your edges first for clean lines.

3. Use a roller extender to paint floor to ceiling without breaking your back.

4. Always plan on two coats, you might luck out and get full coverage with a single coat, but chances are you will need to do two. 

5. IT’S JUST PAINT… if you don’t like the color, try again. Don’t overthink it!

Grab a gallon of Valspar paint and try these on your next project.

- Can I save this sad beige bedroom?

I’m partnering with to transform my best friends’ boring bedroom into a moody and bold retreat. Anthony and Andrea have been our friends for years and have always been there for us through thick and thin, so I’m stoked to be doing something special for them.

The plan is to keep this project budget friendly and let a fresh coat of Valspar Ultra Interior Paint + Primer do the heavy lifting. To make the space feel more custom, I’m casing out the windows and adding a cool accent wall. 

With Drea’s help, I landed on the perfect shade for this room. Follow along to see how it turns out!
