Meet our team!
We are thrilled to introduce you to Jessalyn Jarest, newest Board Member and owner of Jessalyn Jarest Landscape Architecture!
Jessalyn L. Jarest founded her practice, Jessalyn Jarest Landscape Architecture LLC (JJLA), in 2010 and has completed diverse private gardens and residential landscapes. Her work has been published in Design New England, New England Home and received a City of Cambridge Preservation Award. A native Rhode Islander, Jessalyn focuses on ecological solutions to stormwater management, accessibility, and sustainable garden design. Each of her gardens evoke artful relationships between outside and inside.
Jessalyn is a registered landscape architect with twenty years of experience working within the disciplines of architecture and landscape architecture. Prior to starting her own studio in Cambridge, Jessalyn worked for several award-winning landscape architecture firms in metropolitan Boston. She also spent over 10 years teaching at the Boston Architectural College and has been a visiting critic at Northeastern, RISD, the BAC, and elsewhere. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Planning and Design from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and is licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine.
In addition to her own practice, Jessalyn is a founding principal of COLLAB. COLLAB is a collaborating laboratory of five independent, women-owned landscape architecture practices working on projects throughout the Northeast. She is currently collaborating on projects in Maine and Massachusetts.
