We’ll be joining Wild Seed Project Manager of Educational Programs Nell Houde as a fellow storyteller at Native Plant Trust’s “Tales from the Field: Stories of Botany” Saturday, February 25 6-8PM. Tickets are available on the Native Plant Trust’s website.
First pictured: Cayla Mäki-Pittman is the Founding Co-President of Wild Ones Midcoast Maine, Maine’s first Wild Ones chapter. She is a Master Gardener and owner of Harmless Gardens, Midcoast Maine’s only ecological garden design firm, which specializes in ecological gardening with native plants. She is also an organizer of the Inaugural Camden Native Plant Celebration & Sale, a Wild Seed Project Member-Hosted Event, which was a first for the community, a member of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA), a member of the Ecological Landscape Alliance, and a board member of the Camden Garden Club of Maine.
Second pictured: Nell Houde is a lifelong world-observer and place-steward working as an environmental and outdoor educator in Maine, who currently works as the lead on educational programs for Wild Seed Project. She explores her love of sensory-based learning strategies as both a learner and an educator, and is fed by the process of asking questions about the intersection of land and community.
