Meet Frida! Newest addition to the farm. We knew pretty soon once we moved we needed a livestock guardian dog and our friends had just had 2 litters! They sweetly (and very generously!) gifted us this cutie. Beau, our boy and her have become fast friends and we are now on the journey of training an lgd.

Spotlight on the piggies! Fiona is such a sweetheart! She’s also our most vocal pig. As soon as she sees us she SCREAMS for attention hoping for a special treat or a belly rub.

Several of our followers are breeding or plan to breed their own pigs. Whether breeding for meat, to sell as breeders, or companions; part of that journey requires having piglets castrated. Many have expressed interest in learning how to do it themselves. Because we have a litter on the ground now, I will be offering an opportunity to do just that. All the early mornings, twice a day milking and being tied to the homestead at certain hours is worth it for this GOLD! All the raw milk! All the raw butter! All the raw cream! Learning to make cheeses and different dairy products. WORTH IT! Vaca Lola is definitely the ⭐️ of the homestead 🐄 we are back!

2 weeks ago we took our first home grown pig to the processor. Bacon lived an amazing life with us. Full of belly rubs, ear scratches, pumpkins, scraps, grass, sunshine and land to roam and a little boy who loved on her daily. Bittersweet. We got her with the intention of raising her for meat, hence the name, and we knew this day was coming. We had planned on processing her ourselves but I was still sick and there was a lot going on, so off to the butcher she went. Thank you, Bacon, for your life that will nourish us. In the end, this is why we chose this life. To know our animals lived the best life possible and have only one bad day. Gracias Chuyito for this vida 🤍

Meet, Estrella ⭐️ Yesterday morning we were blessed with a beautiful heifer calf! I was gone and our neighbor called my husband telling him that our cow was calving and he was able to see legs coming out of her. Unfortunately we all missed the actual birth. By the time my husband got out there she was already licking her on the floor. Lola is such a good experienced mama! And she’s already holding back her letdown 🤣 Cheers to new experiences and new life on the farm ❤️

Happy Fall! Please remember Little Flower Farm when you are no longer needing your pumpkin decor after Halloween and Thanksgiving. Our piggies and chickens will make great use of the tasty gourds! We will be in town to pick up Wednesday - Friday in the afternoon/early evening. Message me & thank you!
