The homeowners had the design idea for the front porch railing. I had the privilege of installing it for them. This was a fun project!

Latest woodworking project...shoe caddy. Used materials I had lying around. Have yet to put polyurethane on it. Planning to use water-based poly. Usually use oil-based. Thought I'd experiment with the acrylic on this project.

It's been just a little over a year since Tammy and I opened KES Enterprises, a Home Repair and Improvement business. I've enjoyed the opportunities to meet new people and to learn new skills. Here are a few things I've done. If you see anything on this list that you'd like done around your home, I be glad for the opportunity to connect with you about it. And if you need something done that isn't listed here, let me know, as this list is not exhaustive.

--interior and exterior painting
--repaired a brick foundation
--installed landscaping stones
--installed vinyl plank flooring
--installed baseboard and door-casing trim
--installed shower door for walk-in shower
--installed sink faucets (kitchen and bathroom)
--removed old and installed new outlets/switches
--installed ceiling fans
--stained decks
--installed window blinds
--repaired crack in a textured ceiling
--installed smoke detectors
--repaired damaged door frames and moldings
--removed old caulk and re-caulked bathtub/shower unit
--caulked around a kitchen sink, along a countertop
--installed chain link fence with gates
--repaired framing and siding on a utility shed
--installed a roof vent
--cleaned gutters
--replaced damaged vinyl siding

As noted above, this list is not exhaustive and I'm glad to meet with you to learn of work or repairs that you would like done on or around your home. Presently, my calendar will allow a fairly quick response to smaller jobs but I will gladly add you to the schedule for more involved or seasonal (e.g., hedge trimming, exterior painting) jobs. I am insured and am glad to provide documentation. I am also glad to provide references.

Adding new color, updated landscaping, a deck extension to cover uneven concrete, and new vinyl plank flooring are just a few home improvements that reveal homeowner pride. One of my favorite pastimes is putting together jigsaw puzzles. The more pieces and challenging the better. Occasionally, I'll glue and frame a puzzle. I framed two puzzles this winter making the frames from scrap lumber I had on hand. It was a fun project. I'd be glad to create frames for your puzzles or photos. The lighthouse is in Maine which we visited in the summer of 2019. The puzzle of the river is a gift I received after completing my tenure with the IL/WI District, Church of the Brethren.
No job is too small...seriously!
