Schematic design is complete for this residential addition and renovation project in Woburn, MA.

The design reworks the rear of the home to create a more open and functional layout, centered around a new great room addition, an updated kitchen, and a new powder room. The goal was to create spaces that feel more connected and better suited to everyday living, while giving the project a clear direction for the next phase.

How do you make a home bigger without losing the character that made it feel right in the first place?

This residential addition in Wareham, MA was designed to do exactly that.

It’s always rewarding to see projects like this come together.

Upgrading existing housing isn’t just about replacing fixtures. It’s about working within tight constraints, coordinating with existing conditions, and making smart decisions that improve durability and resident experience long-term.

On this project, that meant rethinking compact layouts, aligning with accessibility requirements, and coordinating closely with Rogue Engineering & Design to ensure everything worked in the field, not just on paper.

This project focused on upgrading outdated bathing facilities by replacing existing tubs and showers with new walk-in, ADA-compliant shower systems 🚿. The work included full demolition of existing units, installation of new liners and plumbing systems, and careful coordination to ensure long-term durability and reliability.

Beyond accessibility, the design prioritized sustainability, indoor air quality, and long-term performance 🌱—delivering a solution that is not only safer and more inclusive, but also built to last. Thoughtful planning around constructability and maintainability helped ensure a smooth installation process and a high-quality end result.

Designing a home of this scale isn’t just about adding space.

For this new 5,200 SF residence in Middleton, MA, the focus was on creating a home that feels cohesive and comfortable, not oversized. Connected living spaces, a central kitchen, and vertical volume help bring natural light deep into the interior and tie the home together.

The exterior draws from traditional forms, balanced with clean detailing and proportion to create a unified expression.

Construction documents are complete, and we’re looking forward to seeing this one move into construction.

Can you tell which part of this home is new?

For this project in Wellesley, MA, our goal was to design an addition that feels fully integrated with the existing residence. At first glance, it’s not immediately obvious what’s new and what’s original, and that was intentional.

The new second story and garage are often assumed to be part of the original home, while the lower-roofed family room on the left is actually existing. The design focuses on continuity in scale, proportion, and material so the entire home reads as a cohesive whole.

We’re excited to share that this project recently received approval from the Wellesley Zoning Board of Appeals, an important step as it moves toward construction.

The addition also supports aging in place, with a new primary suite, dedicated laundry, and improved connection to the existing bedroom wing.

Recently completed in Needham!

This single-family home was designed to maximize usable space across every level, including a finished basement, four bedrooms and three bathrooms on the second floor, and a finished attic that adds flexible space for gathering or recreation.

A spacious kitchen with a large social island anchors the first floor and connects seamlessly to the dining and living areas.

Construction is underway on a two-story addition and renovation for a single-family home in Melrose! This project adds 660 square feet across two floors, including a new primary suite with a primary bathroom and office upstairs.

On the first floor, we’re updating the kitchen, relocating the half bathroom, and creating a brand-new mudroom entry connected to a new deck, adding function, flow, and a stronger connection to the outdoors.

Our goal is always to design additions that feel like they’ve always belonged, and we’re excited to see this one coming together.

Our Norwell residential project has received approval from the local Zoning Board of Appeals.

The process reinforced something we see often in Massachusetts communities: successful approvals are rarely about one variance alone, but about how site planning, massing, and zoning compliance work together from the start.

Early feasibility and clear documentation helped keep the review focused and predictable, allowing the project to move forward with confidence.
