- This is an entry level position dealing with the maintenance of plant equipment

- Inspect machines and plant on a daily basis

• Job Description Summary
- Operate heavy equipment used in the process of laying asphalt
- Work in a team environment
- Perform daily inspections of equipment
- Be able to perform numerous asphalt paving task as needed: shovel, lute, screed, driver, broom

Requirements:

This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of the screed on the asphalt paving machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.

Must be experienced in paver operations, grade controls, asphalt operations.

This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of the screed on an asphalt paving machine.

Operator will control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.

Must partner with other crew members to apply asphalt per plan specifications and perform tasks of other positions as instructed by crew foreman to insure daily schedules/estimates are met.

The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times .

Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Experience:

Must have 2-3 years as a paver screed operator. (Labor Experience does not apply)

Must have 1-2 Year Construction experience.

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of rollers and compactors to bring asphalt within compaction specifications.

Roller Operator- Experience operating a steel drum roller or rubber-tired
roller on an asphalt paving operation.

Job Description and explanation of duties:
1. The job requirements are to distribute, break down, compress and give a finished surface to cooling Asphalt.

2. Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade and asphalt
to desired compaction and smoothness.

3. Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

4. Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices

5. Working environment includes being exposed to hot asphalt and sun and extreme weather temperatures.

6. Ability to lift 70lbs multiple times.

7. Maintain work areas in clean and safe manner.

8. Maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.
