Part of the process of getting our nursery back up and running is up-potting our overgrown plants.
Today, my daughter and I "harvested" some beautiful soil made in our composting pits to use for up-potting.

Sometimes, even the geckos at our farm need to take a moment to stop and smell the roses (or amaryllis).

We are continually propogating and bringing new inventory into our nursery.

Did you know?
In 1989 NASA conducted a study to determine the effectiveness of plants' ability to clean air (which is important if you are planning to send astronauts on prolonged journeys).
It was found that some plants did a phenomenal job converting carbon dioxide into oxygen. Take the common snake plant that grows in abundance here in Hawai'i. It was determined that if you were to be locked in a small space with no access to fresh air you would suffocate in minutes or hours. But if a snake plant were placed in that space with you, it would convert enough of your expelled carbon dioxide into oxygen to sustain you indefinitely!
It was also found that plants do a great job of removing voc's (volatile organic compounds) from the air. Voc's are chemicals emitted from all sorts of manufactured products such as carpeting, plastics, adhesives etc... they are present in our homes and are chemicals such as formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, methyl tert-butyl ether and all sorts of other nasty things we shouldn't be breathing.

So, clean the air in your home, increase the amount of oxygen and improve your health by bringing some plants into your home.
