Friends of Joe Wagner, customers of Joe Wagner Contracting Services, LLC, and followers of Wandering Grace Farm:

On Friday, Joe was in a side by side accident and broke his leg in a few places. His left leg was trapped under the side by side. We’re lucky to have had a fellow contractor on site helping him, and he and his crew were able to free Joe. Our oldest and her friend splinted Joe’s leg, and the hospital took wonderful care of his leg and many parts of his left side of his body that are covered in cuts and road rash.

It was a terrifying incident, and we are so thankful to those who helped him. And we will forever be grateful that the broken leg is the worst of the physical damage.

While Joe manages the pain and gets a handle on this temporary setback, he is unable to receive/make/send phone calls or text messages.

We are so very thankful for our village… for my best friend who dropped everything and drove our shared daughter to her first day of work; for friends who kept our middle kiddo distracted; for family who are reassuring our youngest that one of his most favorite people in the entire world will be ok; for friends who insisted on bringing us food from their cookout yesterday; for everyone who has checked in with me to see what they can do for our family.

He has a long road ahead of him, but everyone’s support and well wishes mean the world to him. I love doing life with this man, even when life is hard and messy and doesn’t go as planned. And I can’t wait to see him back on both feet.

We’re big fans of science here at JWC (engineering is kind of the basis of almost all that we do!), and we couldn’t be more proud of our oldest kid! She is an artist and future scientist and is the founder of - a soon to be non-profit organization dedicated to bringing STEAM to local elementary students and future scientists. Follow her page for great info. And if you’re a teacher in PA, reach out to her for your own set of classroom posters, aligned to PA’s STEELS standards. She’s teamed up with a local business to print and distribute them at no cost to teachers and schools!

We have an odd week - we start the next big job next week, and we have a broken week this week due to our oldest making States with her swim team!

Looking to have a small job or two done? Joe can be all yours for a day, two days, or all four available days this week.

The perfect jobs for this week:
🎨 Paint a room or two
🚿 Install a new faucet or shower head
💡 Install new light fixtures or ceiling fans
🚪 Paint or replace interior doors and hardware
🚽 Install a new toilet
🔌 Install that extra outlet you always wish was there when you need it

Did you know?? A quick push of the toilet handle empties half the tank and does a quick flush. Think of that as option “number one.” A longer hold of the handle empties the whole tank, resulting in a much more powerful flush. Think of that option as “number two.” 💩

Let’s make this week’s Fix It Friday a 2 day event! Have a handful of small jobs, or maybe one bigger (but still small) job? Think:

☑️ switch out all light switches and outlets from beige to white + replace a bathroom faucet + install a handrail

☑️ replace an entry door with a new in-stock door + switch out all exterior doorknobs (matte black is so in right now, and we think it’s timeless)

☑️ install ceiling fans in place of lights in bedrooms

☑️ add overhead lighting (on a dimmer switch!) in your living space

☑️ paint entryway and half bath

☑️ repair/replace/patch drywall from the leak a few years ago
