Our Story

Gerald "Jay" Dargert has lived in Carson City since 1980. He has been married to his wife, Carol, for over 29 years and has three children. He has been the owner of Mastercraft Painting & Decorating, Inc. since 1990 and has experience in the painting industry for 30+ years. Today, Gerald and his team of Reno painting contractors brightens the lives of many living in the community.

Mastercraft Painting & Decorating like other painting companies started purely by accident over 30 years ago. At the time, working for other contractors, Gerald felt the need for better painting services rather than just the plain, old, boring painting services being offered.

This is how Mastercraft Painting & Decorating came into development. Today, Carson City painting has left many happy faces in the area. 20 years ago we decided it was time to restructure and focus, on the residential, commercial, and industrial repaint markets this way we can provide the best possible painting service to you our customers. What does this mean to you our customers? We will be there when we say we will and you project will be completed in consecutive days. The new construction contractors do not control our schedule and us. We do things according to your schedule, and what is best for you. Over the past 14 years, we have added residential, commercial and industrial epoxy floor coatings and concrete polishing. 3 years ago we have added a custom line of cabinets for the garage storage system. This also includes closet cabinetry.
