Kentucky Things

Maybe it’s because I’ve been away and came back…

but I appreciate Kentucky in a completely different way now.

Give me a quiet road, a pretty sunset, a little piece of land and a porch to sit on and I’m pretty happy.

I don’t need fancy.

I just want somewhere that feels like home.

And maybe that’s why I love what I do so much.

Because at the end of the day, I’m not really helping people buy a house.

I’m helping them find their version of home. 🏡❤️

I have a confession…

Sometimes I look at a home and immediately start mentally moving my stuff in. 😂

Like… I don't even own the house and I'm already deciding where the couch is going, what I'm putting on the kitchen counters, and which room is getting completely taken over by the kids.

Anyone else? 😂

That’s one of my favorite things about looking at homes though. It’s not really about the walls or the cabinets.

It’s that little moment when you can actually picture your life happening there. 🏡❤️

And THAT is when a house starts feeling like home.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Today is a good excuse to slow down for a minute and appreciate all the people who work hard every single day to keep our families, communities, and businesses going.

The early mornings.
The long days.
The jobs that don’t always get noticed.
The work that keeps a roof over our heads and food on the table.

It may not always feel glamorous, but hard work matters. ❤️

So whether you’re working today, enjoying a day off, grilling with family, or just soaking up a little extra time at home…

I hope you have a safe, relaxing Labor Day! 🇺🇸

And if you’re lucky enough to have tomorrow off too… don’t tell the rest of us. 😂

There’s just something about Sunday that makes you want to get your life together. 😂

Clean the house.
Make a grocery list.
Plan the week.
Get caught up on everything you ignored all week.
Convince yourself that THIS is the week you’re going to stay organized. 😅

And then Monday shows up like…

“Cute plan. Anyway…” 😂

But honestly, I’ve learned that sometimes Sunday doesn’t need to be productive.

Sometimes you just need a slow morning, a good cup of coffee, a little quiet, and a chance to breathe before the week starts again. ❤️

🏡 Let’s be real for a minute…

When I picture my dream home, I’m not thinking about a house that belongs in a magazine.

I’m thinking about a kitchen that can handle a family dinner without me running out of counter space. 😂

A porch where I can sit with my coffee and actually enjoy it before it gets cold.

A laundry room that somehow keeps itself clean… okay, maybe THAT part really is a dream. 😂

And a home that feels comfortable, lived-in, and ours.

Because honestly, I think the best homes are the ones that look like people actually live there. ❤️

😂 Thursday confession…

I have officially reached the point where I can walk into a room and completely forget why I’m there.

I’ll stand there for 30 seconds like… 🤔

“What was I doing?”

Then I walk back to where I started and suddenly remember. 😂

Between kids, work, laundry, cooking, appointments, and trying to keep a house somewhat presentable… apparently my brain has decided it has a storage limit. 🤣

And speaking of houses…

Does anyone else clean one room, walk into another, see something that needs done, start that, remember something in the kitchen, go there, get distracted, and somehow end up doing absolutely none of it? 😂🙋‍♀️

Maybe that's why I love the idea of a home that actually works for the way your family lives.

Because life is already chaotic enough. Your home should feel like a place that helps you breathe—not another thing on your never-ending to-do list. ❤️
